I know this is a pretty simple question and I could just go to any car shop and pick up a set of wipers but I don't want to do that.
I'd like aero wipers, I prefer the look and the wipe of them but I don't like the bulky clip they have on them.
I know some of you are using B6 wiper arms with some form of adapter, is there any other options out there?

I bought some A8 wipers that never fitted.

Passat aero wipers... '02 onwards. They bolt straight on (don't let anyone tell you otherwise, I've done it twice now).

Look for breakers on eBay. That's where I got mine from.

I think you need to concentrate on the facelift B5.5 model Passat. The one with the chrome around the front grille. I've had two sets (one on each of my B5's) and one set that I butchered to fit my E36 M3... which worked quite nicely, thank you very much!

(not a particularly good illustration as it's quite dark)

I've sent them links a msg and see what they say.
I'm in no rush at the moment but its good to know.

Thats a nice looking M3 mate.
I miss my Loon :(

It was a nice Evo... but such hard work to drive daily. The wife hated using it (from her TT). It was VERY rewarding though.

The S4 is a MUCH nicer car. Now it's remapped and the problems sorted, I love it all over again!

Never done a build thread.

Here's how I bought it. Well actually, here's how I took it in p/x against the M3...! (yuk!)

Here's how it was 4 days later...

...and here's how it is now (though with 15mm rear and 10mm front H&R spacers on not in this pic).

21" 21" Aero FLAT Windscreen Front Wiper Blades Upgrade Pair Car | eBay

Will those work on my A4 please? The ones that are on my car at the moment do not hve contact on the screen all the way down so there are patches that never get wiped. Is it just the blades that I need to change? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give!

If you want to fit aero-style blades to earlier cars using the old arms I'd say get the retrofit Bosch Aerotwin ones , you need AR530S .
These fit straight on the old arms and I swear by them, they are available on Ebay for around £15 delivered and are much better IMHO than no-brand junk.

Got them. Fitted them. They are spot on. £14.99 with free delivery from t'ebay :). Thanks for the help

do the AR530S blades fit RHD cars?

I bought a set... blades sit upside-down on screen and the box says they're for LHD audi A4
on the Bosch official fitment PDF it lists A530S

think i need to exchange

My first set of AR530S came from German & Swedish in about 2007 and had no such markings on the box and fitted my RHD perfectly....
I'm on my 3rd set of them now IIRC and have never had any issues with them whatsoever????

Just got my AR530S replaced -
was sent AR534S which seems the correct fit for RHD A4 and Passats up to 2001

B7 arms are neither a straight fit or a good one IMO, neither are B6
I have had both, and the cone adapters needed (long since sold!)

I now have passat retrofit aeros

They are OK, but sweep and clearance is poor now if I am honest, probably time to replace them

AFAIK thats wrong.
Have just come across a box of AR530S that I didn't remember still having and it says (amongst others) on the box fitment listing ;
A4 [8D2; B5] RLE 11.94>11.00 and
A4 [8D5;B5] RLE 11.94>09.01
printed in several languages on the box below the above data is the further info
RLE-for right hand drive
In fact all the other fitment info (A4 B6, Renault, VW Passat and Volvo C70,S70 and V70) also states RLE...

Based on that I reckon the AR530S is correct for UK use, presuming the vehicle is UK RHD.....

They;re listed for the clio, which has "backwards" wipers to normal here in the UK...

They cant properly fit both a mk2 clio and a RHD A4?

Listed where?
My boxed set are about a year old and the only Renault fitment is the Kangoo (probaby Clio-based but I know zilch about Renaults).
The box says they are for RHD A4 B5 and B6 models, perhaps Bosch have revised their fitment, will be interesting to see how a new set I've ordered this morning compares.
Until then I still maintain AR530S is the correct fitment, though ISTBC,lol.....

Surely just because people are selling the AR530S as Clio fitment doesn't necessarily mean it's the correct blade though?
The Bosch box of my Aerotwin blades actually states A4 B5 and for RHD , so think it's pretty conclusive?

The box of AR530S i received was marked differently and only had Pug 206 and Clio as RHD fit.

The replacement of AR534S is for only RHD cars - A4 B5 & B6 [to 09/01], Passat [to 10/01]
and a Jeep, Volvo and a Nissan but let's not go there...

the wipers on my car ar the usual pattern for a RHD car with the driver's wiper sweeping over the passanger side.
some French cars seem to retain the LHD wiper pattern even with RHD

oh yes, the swept area is slightly larger than the original metal bracing ones on there before

which is just as well cos IT DOESN'T STOP F'ING RAINING!!!

I think I've finally got to the bottom of all this confusion!
Bosch indeed have changed the fitment of the AR530S.
Old stock is indeed listed as RHD (and fits RHD cars perfectly) as per my posts above, but brand-new stock of AR530S has the box showing fitment as LHD for the A4, and fitting these blades to a UK car will indeed result in the blades being upside down!
The AR534S has the same length blades as the AR530S (ie 530mm or 21") and it is indeed these that you should buy for your RHD B5 A4......
If you are offered any AR530S then just make sure it is old stock, to be on the safe side, I'd recommend sticking to the AR534S.
Apologies for posting potentially duff info above, I wonder why Bosch have done this?
