What one is best to get
Preferably to play MKV's
I got a media player built into one of my tvs and that plays mkv's but want a box of tricks for the lounge.
cheers

Check out the WD TV Live. i've had this for 2 years and havnt look back. it plays almost everything i throw at it!

I use my Sony PS3 and run PS3MediaServer on my PC. It will play virtually every file that a PC can.

I use a NAS for storage too.

So if you have a PS3 and a PC then you dont need much else.

+1 for the Sony PS3 and PS3 Media Server software on my iMac. All HD movie files in MKV streaming to the PS3. The software is free so pretty good value for money if you already own a PS3.

Bluray player with DLNA is another option, best to check formats before buying unless you want to use transcoding software as mentioned by others.

Been away for a while - i bought a wdtv live - seems ok so far...
