I know the phone compatability always used to be be appaling. Is it still the same?
Anyone have a list of phones? I seem to remember that someone found a website that did other holders which then attached to the OEM kit.

Anyone?

I'm just about to have a row with my dealer and will try for this as compensation i think, as long as it fits my K700i

Have you got the kit installed as a factory option? If not I belive it is a PITA to fit and also costs a fortune.
What's the row over?

I was gonna make them pay for and fit it.

Problems with the car. Electronics to start with and the car needs to go back for a third time to sellotape the bodykit back on.

I didn't like the handset cradle location, looked kinda strange just "floating" on the dash.
Or am I thinking about something else? qlso Eeef I thought you had an after market stereo fitted will the factory fit kit work with it?

I installed a nokia kit in mine, nice and simple and works a treat.

yep, got an aftermarket stereo, which has a phone function so 'assumed' it would work...mistake?

I was gonna go with the Sony Ericsson bluetooth one but I'm sure someone posted problems with it?

You can't retrofit the factory option phone kit and I've been in contact with techs at Cullmann in Germany who supply the OEM gear for Audi and they insist it is a factory build option only.

I finally went down the road of a Nokia CK-7W bluetooth kit which works fine with the DVD Nav system, muting and pausing playing music when answering the call but no phonebook or steering wheel integration.

Same for me, got the Nokia Bluetooth kit all wired up to my Sat Nav Plus, works a treat! Shame the phone pod has to be up alongside the head unit, cos when I want to get the SD Cards out, I have to "bend" the bracket a little to allow the screen to open up.

Anyone got any slick ideas for mounting the phone pod else where, but without getting the mighty Black and Decker drill out! Would love to put it lower down on the left hand side.

Not sure about the sony Ericsson bluetooth kit - http://www.siocommunications.co.uk are a good source of information though!

If you want to fit a car kit to an after market stereo and get the sound through the speakers you'll also need to budget for an autoleads kit which I think is about £40, I pressume you have iso speaker connectors on the back of you head unit connected into the factory loom? If you want to test the the autoleads connector I have a spare.

Brodit make a mount that fits down on the rail by the ash tray, just clips and sticks on. That's where mines fitted. Hold on and I'll get a picture.

There you go, not the best picture in the world but it gives you an idea!

I have a K700i and it work well with the Sprtbk fitted with the Audi bluetooth kit. I only had it for the weekend and not really long enough to experience any probs. It even came up with the number on the DIS so cool. I did not have the cradle just had it close to hand.

Just out of curiosity, can the btooth option be fitted after the car has been delivered? Sorry if this is the same question Eeef has just asked.

Her indoors didn't let me have the option when it came to ordering, something about not being able to afford a cot for the kid arriving July. Whatever!

That's great marriedblonde, cheers for the tip.
