Hello,

For a while now, my car has been holding back during accelaration. It seems to do this at random, it doesn't matter how fast I accelarate or what gear/rpm it's in. At some point, I noticed my dumpvalve started making a lot of noise, and the logs comfirmed it was knackered. I also had some huge cracks in my engine cover (you could clearly see the airfilter...), so with this in mind we started replacing a few parts:

- new engine cover (bought a second hand S3 one from pinterovski)
- rev d diverter valve (06H 145 710d)
- TSB 28E9 (Coil pack recall)

This helped a great deal, however my car still holds back sometimes (but a lot less worse than before). After checking the logs again, we found a new error:

000665 - Boost Pressure Regulation: Control Range Not Reached
P0299 - 002 - Lower Limit Exceeded

I searched the internet and unfortunately, there is no straight forward solution, just a lot of parts that could be broken.

So my question is, with all the experience here, what would you guys check/replace first?

Thanks in advance!

PS. It's a 2006 2.0TFSI with 62k miles/100k km's

You need to check for boost leaks. Check all the boost pipes going from the turbo to the intercooler and then the intercooler to the engine.

If you have vagcom then you could do with seeing what the wastegate duty cycle is running at, if its at 95% all the time during full throttle then you have a boost leak.
