Advice on A3 Sportback

Hi all,

I am pretty new to the forum and am pretty much a novice when it comes to modifying cars. I have been reading the forum for days about the rear light conversion to LED. Now i managed to bag a set of rear LED lights from Ebay which were dirt cheap. Once i had them delivered last week, after days of conversations with the seller whom promised me they were both the inner and outter lights, it turns out that he only has the outter light clusters.

Anyway, what im asking really; Is there anywhere other than Audi i can source the inner light LED clusters. Audi want £44.20 + VAT each light :faint:.

I will also need to source the Kufatec leads (if that is how to pronounce it) lol

Last of all, what is everyones view on raceland coilovers for my 2.0 TDI Sportback Quattro 170?

Hello and welcome! i'm pretty sure you can pick the inners up separately, Nige will know for sure.

if i were you i'd probably have a winge at ebay - if they have been sold without the inners, the item has not been sold as described etc.

but i'm a miserable @rse.

and i know nothing about Coilovers i'm afraid. But it might be worth mentioning what year yours is as well in case it helps anyone out there who does know.
 
If keeping the ones you've bought and getting the inners off Audi or Nigel on here (if he can supply inners only) still works out cheaper then I'd keep the ones you got off ebay. If the saving is minimal I'd ask for my money back from the ebay seller as the item was not as advertised and just get a full new set. Either way i'd be looking for some amount of money back off the ebay seller. The only other option is to keep your eyes peeled for inners on ebay or try local scrap yards but it could be a long wait.

I take it you are also aware that the tail lights are going to need coding to work properly? Its just you don't mention this in your post.
 
Hi, thanks for the replies. I have indeed contacted paypal reference the seller, unfortunately the seller indeed has lied through his back teeth to paypal about having no contact with me. The seller also has put fake questions and answers on the ended ebay advert to support his claim of innocence.

I am aware coding is needed and i am able to get it done locally fortunately for free so i will just need the kuftec leads and the inner lights.

Is there any chance you could possibly ask this Nigel if he can get the inners? I am unable to PM due to a low post count.
 
Hi,
I can supply the Kufatec leads (brand new) for £50 delivered via Special Delivery or £40 cash on collection from West Yorkshire.
 
Sounds like the ebay sellers is the usualy dumb breaker who probably ripped off the tailgate to sell seperately and left the inner lamps on it!

The kufatec leads pretty much make them plug and play with the exception of having to add one wire to each tailgate lamp, but it's pretty easy and the fastest way to do it. Then just need coding. Hopefully you haven't paid much for the outerlamps on ebay as half a set is not worth nearly as much as a fully (new full sets INCLUDING the kufatec looms on ebay for £230)
 
I purchased the outer lights for £100, i thought they were a bit of a bargain being the inners too. i have since claimed via paypal and i am awaiting a response. Does anyone else know anywhere else i can source the inner lights for?....

obviously i will just need the kuftec leads too.

i think i came across this seller on ebay. when i saw the price i thought it was too good to be true so i messaged him and asked if it was a complete set and if there were any damages, he replied saying they are the outers so i left it.
sorry bud.

the seller should have made it more clear on the sale.

Yeah... i was more peed off to be fair for the fact that i was texting/emailing the seller for literally 2 days just to confirm that both inner and outer were included, to which everything seemed dandy. I even went as far as to get a picture of the rear of my A3 and circle the inner parts to make sure he knew which parts i meant. All was confirmed as present and correct. Grrrrrr
