Want More Power From My TDI Engine

Guys,

Ive got the 140 TDI engine in my Audi, which i have had remapped running just under 200bhp and near 290torque.

Only mod to the engine is the remap.

What sort of other things would I be looking at doing for a noticeable power gain? and rough prices?

Bigger Turbo? Items from the 170 model? ( injectors, intercooler ect)

Not complaining with the speed but ive got used to it, need a bit more umph if you get me!
 
I personally just dont see the point of spending loads on a diesel to get some decent performance when you could sell up and use the money for an S4, make some little mods and get plenty of performance!

Instead of spending a shed load of money transforming what was designed as an economical commuting engine, why not spend the same amount of money buying a more powerful car? If you need a diesel, go for the 3.0 then for a £350 remap, you've got 260 BHP and 400lbft of torque, simples.
 
can see were people are coming from jus sell and get summut else.

but ive mapped it jus wanted to know what the next stages and possible power gains would be like
 
It think if you go stage 2 map you will need either a bigger or hybrid turbo.
Cold feed intake. cat back exhaust, uprated clutch.
Big money really. people on here have gone that route - do a search and you will find what you need to do.

Cheers lad,

Jus been speaking to the company who did my map, and he was saying for the power gain you could get its really not worth the money you would be spending.

So, probs save my money towards something else and just be happy with the power its got lol

Maybe if we can come up with some way to tweak the extra 0.2 BHP out of your motor, you'd be happier with the performance??? :hi:
 
lol, yeh round it up to 194 be happy.

a company called stattler in attercliffe did the map for me
 
Whats your mileage and what other modifications do you have? That's quite a lot of power from the 140bhp isn't it? What map did that company use?

No other mods to the engine other than the remap, the company who did it are highly rep'd round our area. Was mapped up to a safe level, told him i didnt want no black smoke pouring out of the back when I booted it

Ive got the r/r in the car ill get it scanned in this afternoon

Funny that they can't spell their web address and company name correctly on the printout.
It is rather optimistic to get 190+bhp from 140 without ANY other mod unless you had some mega gifts from the factory.
 
to be honest im in sheffield and i have never herd of them nor any of my mates
so cant be that much talked about what kind of RR are they useing
i kight pop down for a run see if its any good

It's because it is statller.com not stattler.com like it is on the printout.
 
the bhp is what it is just on the map, no other work

the company bin based in attercliffe, within autorads since aslong as i can remeber, loads of people i know use him

If ya from sheff uve surely seen the old style petrol station in attercliffe on way to wicker full of top end porcshes audis?

Not sure what rolling road, when i spoke to him it was in early stages of a 4 wheel rolling road, he was not advertising it yet as it was not fully completed with air feeds ect apparently, might even be fully complete nah

yep i know who you mean now auto rads
many ppl may use him
but the ppl in the know wouldnt use him
 
on another note danny if your still after more power you should speak to some on the diesel lads i know
they can get quite alot ov power from diesel for not much cash and he will fit and custom retune for you

ah should have mentioned autorads eariler on like.

yeh id be interested, what sort of things they offer? been told about dpf blanks and all this but unsure of advantages ect
 
he can offer realy anything you want
his passat was running nealy 400hp b4 he sold it on
ill have a chat to him and then give you his number
iv got him comeing to halfway next week to map a few cars for me
