[h=2][/h]Hi guys,

I have been trying to make some changes to the 09 Central Electronics controller module but found that the module does not support long coding i.e. it only has a regular (short) code. It is on a 2010 3.0 TDI A6 and I am rather surprised/annoyed that the car has what seems to be such an unusual (dud) module. Everything I have found and read suggests that the CE module supports long coding. This is what the coding screen looks like.

My current module's part number is 4F0 910 279 N. I am contemplating on replacing/upgrading the module, subject to how difficult it is to do.

Would anyone be able to advise on:

1. Where I could search for a list of compatible part number to suit my car? I have looked at genuinevwaudiparts.com but the keyword search does not work properly on that site.

2. Is it even possible to change from a short (regular) code based module to one that uses long coding? I think the challenge would be to copy the current coding to the new module as the code would be completely different, considering the original code would be short and the new module would require a long code.

Any insights you may care to share would be appreciated. Thanks.
