Hey all, ive developed a Missfire on start up/idle, it clears when you rev it and the car doesn't go into limp mode. Seems fine while driving! and sometimes you start the car and it's absolutely fine.
I'm guessing a coilpack, but not too sure.

Any ideas?

ok thanks, would the Vag-Com Lite version tell me, or would i need the full version?

To be honest, it may not even display a fault. Try cleaning the maf, also you may not realise, but there was a recall for the coilpacks, so if you go to a dealer, they should be able to change them FOC

wow really? its a 2000 S3, and they would possibly still do it?

Yea should do providing there originals. Give dealer a ring, tell them you suspect coilpacks. They are usually pretty keen to book people in as dealer does alright our of warranty work iv heard.

awesome, thanks ill get on it tomorrow, cheers again

hi mate,
you havent told us what type of engine you have. maybe its a petrol or diesel, or electric hybrid, plus engine size.
if its a petrol then i would suspect a breather hose. please get back to us with more info.

by the way it cant be the coilpacks as they only fail once the engine heats up to optimal temperatures.
the guy has a cold starting problem.

Is that a fact? well a few people here claimed that changing coilpacks cured there start up issue.

I had the same problem but it was the maf for me.
