Hi!
Im doing a facelift S3 conversion on my 2006 a3 and ive been offered a set of S3 LED xenon headlights from Germany I'm just wondering if these can be made compatible for use on UK roads. From my understanding the beam pattern will be way off.

I hope someone can shed some light onto this.

If it is possible then i may be able to get a great bargain:yahoo:

Thanks in advance!

Been looking at them on German ebay aswell, a lot cheaper :)
I'd also like an answer to this please!

I may be wrong but I know using VCDS you can change the beam pattern to continental driving. Possibly this is all thats needed!?!?

u can change them however it doesnt change the beam pattern, it only lowers it, so i guess you could be ok? id prbly go for it :o.k:

Would be nice if it could be done, they're a lot cheaper from Ze Germans :)

Can anyone with xenons as standard have a look in their manual and see what it says about driving abroad?

An old BMW my mum had, had a screw you turned and it did something to the beam, I was only about 12 years old at the time though

Hi I have xenons as standard on RHD A5 . The manual says can be adjusted via MMI however the option is greyed out. They are easily changed by VAGCOM however CHange channel 10 from 0 to 1 and vice versa. Unfortunatley a message comes up un DIS every time the car is started warning light converter is active. Could be annoying if using car in UK all the time

So the answer to this important question is... NO!

LHD lights will not work unfortunately, this has been covered before and explained in detail... they would be great if you are going to take the car abroad and drive around out there but to have them here in the UK will be a massive problem. they cannot be converted either...

sorry

Typically on rhd lights, the adjustment cuts off the high part of the beam that illuminates further ahead on the pavement. This is obviously a mirror image of the lhd beam pattern.

When you flick the switch it makes it all flat. It is therefore fine to drive on the wrong side with these but it doesn't light up as much in your outer vision.

The thing is, on previous cars I've tinkered with the lights of, lhd lights don't tend to have the facility to flatten the beam because driving in the uk is a less likely situation whereas for uk cats there's a much bigger option of countries who drive on thd right to visit.

If they are switchable then it will be acceptable but will give you a smaller illuminated area.

In short, not worth the saving.

chappy how much where your spacers i may get some

As above, not a chance, dont waste your money.
