Very clean & tidy for its age are those TT alloys ?

Im confused. Why has it got a old style clocks? I mean mines digital (on the far bottom left of your speedo) and S3 Wheel. Also has it got a arm rest?

not bad for £1550 that u paid for it it has a airfilter in it as well but is very tidy was my mats
yes they r tt wheels

Thanks, its not a s3 wheel it doesnt have a s3 badge onit, i think all the 1997 ones had them style clocks in, the lights are face lifted in the back but not the front ( on the to do list) no arm rest as of yet although i would like to retro fit one as i did in my last car (golf) and couldnt of been with out it after i fitted it.

yes the green and grey have different wire connectors got it from tps, needs a thermostat its sticking open as the temp drops off when going down hills, and takes while to warm up

I'm no expert but it doesn't look right to me. I mean its a 1.8T and as Ive already said, no arm rest, no digital clock on the dash clocks, the rear lights have been changed from the wrong type of the year of your car and i thought all 1.8T`s had checkered interior. I'm not pulling it down im just saying it looks like someone messed with it..
Upon looking on pistone heads id say you have the interior of a 1.6 car. Thats definatly the climate control and dash of a 1.6 bud

It looks like a genuine early prefacelift sport to me with optional leather.

The digi clock is on the later cars

Thanks, i have seen a few before i bought this one and another one had leather aswell the others did have the checkerd interior but i was under the impression it was a optional extra.

Regards tom

Sounds like its abit of a mine field then as i looked at a fair few 1999-2000 1.8T`s and they all had either grey / red or blue cheques on the seats. I only looked at blue cars as thats the one i realy wanted and they all had the same Digital climate controls and digital clocks on the dash with the arm rest too.
I know the leather was an optional extra but thought the clocks was the same on all pre-face lift versions (1.8T)

As i said, im no expert but thought they was all like that unless you went for a 1.6 or 1.8 non turbo model...

hi the leaher is from a late 2000 a3 18t i was breaking it had the blue & black trim

Yup. I knew someone had messed with it. I susspect them clocks are from a 1.6 too at some point.

the clocks r the right clocks for that car do he not listen they r fitted till 1999/2000 reg when they change to digital

Very nice. You've done well to get a nice looking one that old. I have a v reg one and it's the same inside too. I payed a bit more for mine and it only had 73 k on the clock. A year later and it's only got 76k on it.

Mine is leather throughout too. I was told they are optional extras from new. I also have a sun roof and parking sensors.

The first audi I had a king fisher blue 1.8t that had the black leathers, digi clock, rear clear revers lights and was a 1999 T, i suspected most of this was put on it but didnt care are i would have wanted to do all that anyway, looks a tidy car and you never really know the true past of a car,Youv got a good base to start with there dude. My current audi is frankinstiens monster as its got about 4 diffrent cars parts on it lol.

I have a 1.8T S reg and the clocks are the same as mine. I have leather seats too but the center console is different.

yup - just to confirm what everyone else has said. my 97 1.8T has the same wheel and dash including clock.

the paint isnt quite as mint as yours but it is a horrible (and rare?) green. still drives sweet as a nut though (1200 quid a couple of months ago)

thanks for all the comments i will keep you all posted to anything i do to her, just want to run her for bit first done want to do alot really set of alloys n couple of other bits be about it..

spec wise it looks perfectly normal to me.

not ALL pre facelift cars had the analogue clocks, some late facelift 99/2000 cars had digital clocks, but everything from 97 and 98 had the analogue clock. it'll be the late pre facelift cars that Reptor has seen with the digital clocks.

on an R-plate though, those clocks are 100% correct for the car.

Aircon was a £1200 option from new. Most have it, but it was not standard spec in a sport. This doesn't have it. if it doesn't have aircon, it'll almost certainly have a sunroof.

DIS was also a £200 option from new. Again, most have it, but not all. This does have it.

Arm rest again was an optional extra. Many don't have this.

That leather could also have been original to the car too, although Renton said he fitted it in place of the blue, it's still pre facelift leather, and was about a £1000 option when new. The car COULD (although didn't) have come from the factory with those exact seats.

Nice car for £1400!
