First post on here and can i say what a cracking website, knowledge is endless, helped me out alot allready.

My question is i want to upgrade my 288mm front discs to the 312mm discs, is it as simple as getting hold of some 3.0 brake carriers or is there more to it?

Other models have 312mm discs too.

The quattro versions of the 2.5TDi and 190 1.8T do, I'm not sure about the fwd versions.

sorry to drag up an old post but is it just the carriers that need changing to get the desired 312mm??

Anyone got a pt number as i have a full mk5 golf gti set up which is 312 and to be honest, i'm hoping i can use it!

My brakes are good allround but just don't seem to bite hard enough, mind you, it is a 1.9tdi Quattro so could be the weight.

any help much appreciated

when you doing it? if its around december, i plan on putting porsche 993 caliper on mine and i'll need to relpace my carriers any way.

you can have them if you still need them by then.
