Hi guys,

What should I be looking to be paying for a 2000 Cat D S3 With 80k on the clock? FSH and recent MOT.

Cheers.

Try autotrader with the same spec straight one and deduct a third imho

i went to look at a cat d before i bought mine it was a 2002 he wanted £3200 he wasnt willing to move on price so i didnt buy it

Cheers guys.
The deal was before I found out it was written off was too trade my A3 quattro with 105k plus £1500.

£2.8k a fair price..

There is nothing wrong in buying a CAT C or D if the repair is done well and the car has a good serice history. Personally i'd look to pay between £750-£1000 less for a CAT C than the equivalent non CAT C car and £500-£750 for a CAT D.

Having said that there are bargins out there, so why not buy something like this

for the same money and possibly better looked after and not a CAT car...which will be harder to sell in the future..

I paid £3000 for my 2000 S3 a few months back (130k on clock but car is mint) so defo dont pay anymore than that!
