audi a3 odb falts ABS & airbag

hiya peeps,

does anyone know what the following codes mean in detial and how i can resolve them:

283-- ------- Front Left ABS Wheel Speed Sensor -G47
_ INTERMITTENT

283-- ------- Front Left ABS Wheel Speed Sensor -G47
Mechanical Malfunction INTERMITTENT



1218- ------- Side airbag igniter - pass side rear -G200
Resistance to High INTERMITTENT

my abs light come on and then dissappears at its own will, but my airbag light it contantly on??? could anyone help with a detailed diognosis

sorry i forgot to mention my car is a audi a3 1.8 turbo 1997 model it has driver and passenger front airbags and no side airbags

sounds like similar problem to mine, had one abs sensor gone and one abs sensor on its way out, resulted in the intermittent abs light, problem solved by fitting new sensors, had the airbag light on but mine was due to disturbed wiring under my seat due to the wire being trapped and half pulled itself out of a socket when sliding the drivers seat back

where did this wire go to under the seat, i dont have side airbags on my car

was just the seat airbag connector comes from somewhere under the carpet up to the seat connector, just basically caused a disturbed wiring fault, you can get at it under your seat and i'm pretty sure its a pink connector as most of the connectors are, i still had to have the fault removed at a local specialist after i put the connectors back together but its great when they do it for free cuz they know you
