Hi Gang

Glow plug started flashing and an immediate loss of power, so im guessing engine gone into limp mode.
Any ideas, handbook says "service needed" < wow lol. Has anyone had this, if so what was the outcome.

Thanks

Mac

No stuttering or engine cut out, could this be something other than the dreaded injector issue ?

Have the exact same issue this morning. Car has been hesitating and cutting power under acceleration lately. Seems like no turbo there now?
Anyone have any ideas?

Need to scan the car tbh matey, vcds is wise in these situations as audi will bum you for the hourly rates.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you guys are showing the tell tale signs of impending injector failure. You will probably find in the near future that your cars will completely cut out without warning and you will have a full loss of power stering, brakes etc. There is a huge thread on this a few below this one. The fix is expensive (around £800-£1000) per injector of which you have 4. The quick story behind this is that all Audi A3/A4 2.0tdi 170's around 2006-2007 have badly designed injectors and wiring looms which corrode and earth which the cars ECU doesn't like so it shuts down the engine and you have to be towed away. Unfortunately there is no fix for this just replacement but you could do what other drivers have done and ask Audi to fix it for free. This is usually dependant on you having a full Audi service history though.
