Cars before your B5

Kind of following on from Axios thread, would like to know the journey of cars you have had before you got the A4 B5.

Ford Sierra 2.0L-1989-Loved it but had to be scrapped
Vauxhall Astra 1.4LS-1994-Slowest thing on the planet
Honda Prelude 2.0Lex-1990-Loved the car and still miss it now, the retro styling was great
Toyota MR2 GT-1990-Loved this aswell but wanted something with a Turbo
Escort RS Turbo-1988-Great when it ran good, which was for about 2 weeks during my ownership
Rover 214-1994-A runabout, used to offroad it, crash it, it never died though and managed to sell it
Subaru Legacy Twin Turbo-Beast of a thing but lost my job and couldn't afford to run it so sold it
Vw Passat tdi 90-Owned it for all of 3hours..yes 3 hours, didn't like it so took it back
Vw Bora 1.9tdi 110 1999-Loved this car as well, it was decked on 18s, massive sounds.
Vw Golf GTI-1999-Never ran 100% but was pretty quick because it was mapped
Rover coupe 1.6-another runaround-Owned it for 3 days and took it back to the garage
Vauxhall Astra 1.7tds-1995-another runabout-Isuzu engined thing, wacked the boost and fueling up and was staying with my mates passat tdi130.
And finally my A4 B5-Best car i've owned, love it to bits.

I had

1986 Mk2 ford fiesta xr2 1.6 cvh wish i never broke for part this was clean £600 standard

Mk3.5 ford fiesta 1.3 hcs glad i broke this piece of crap but got me about lol £80

Then came my
1986 1.1l base spec mk2 ford fiesta £300

changed to a 1.6 cvh in it

then put a zetec in there after that it flew :happy:

and loads of other mods done

Then i bought a ford escort mk6 1.8 zetec si blown engine should of finished it but broke it for parts. £150
Then i bought another 1.1 mk2 this was rotten so i broke it for parts.
I then bought a mk1 106xsi for £250 bit of a shed but pretty nippy well worth the £250 Sold that on ebay for the same money after clutch died.
Then i bought my a4 for £100 ;-)

1.2 mk2 astra merit, half red, half pink. Didnt like water.... Would cut out!
1.6 mk5 escort lx, was perfect... I killed it fitting ****e lowering kit! Shook itself to bits and munched wheel bearings!
Rs2000 mk5, amazing car.... Rusted into oblivion!
Audi coupe quattro 1990...... 5 pot luverleeness.... Got tired!!
Audi coupe 2.3 fwd.... 5 pot loverleeness.... Kids.... Need more doors!
Golf mk3 gti 5 door...... Faultless....... But girls car!!
A4 b5 tqs...... Lowered, 18ns, white dials, half leather, 4x4, solid, **** on fuel but i love it!!!
Next........?????? Rs4!

Hi well first car was a 1990 golf 1.4 heap of s**t
Then a m reg purple yes purple Clio 1.2 another heap of s**t
Then a cavalier 2.0l injection good car but engine literally blew up about a week after I brought it
Then I had a ford escort 1.4 another heap of s**t
Then a Toyota corrolla 1.6 16v great little car till both driveshafts went and the clutch
Then it was a ford rs2000 another great car but started to fall apart
Now the b5 a4 2.6 v6 quattro great car but want a tqs next

1993 BMW e36 325i coupe (superb to drive, lots of niggles)
2006 Peugot 407 1.6 hdi (company car, 3 gearboxes in 43k miles, s**t)
2008 Vauxhal Vectra (Got me from A to B)
2004 BMW e46 323i (good to drive, expensive to service)
2001 A4 B5 1.9 tdi (best car ever as an all rounder, don't think I can fault it)
2005 A4 B7 1.9 tdi (good but no B5, the dual mass fly wheel was going on it)
CURRENT - 2001 Audi S4 B5 Avant 2.7 TT - Stage 1 (nothing better other than a 2009 M5 Touring!!!! Next on my list!!)

1.1 Rover Metro... Rust Bucket
Vauxhall Corsa B 1.4... Slow and chavtastic
Vauxhall Vectra B 2.0... blew up engine (dont drive off the rev limiter lol)
Vauxhall Omega 3.2 V6 Manual.... Written off (but kept the engine and put it in a....)
Vauxhall Vectra B 2.5V6.... (because it threw cambelt tensioner)
Then some bikes in the middle (Honda VFR, Kwak Ninja, Suzuki GSXf, Honda CG125)
Audi A3 1.8T 8L
Audi A4 1.9Tdi Avant

Hmm, this is awkward as many of them I owned alongside my B5. lol

A Ford Escort 1.6Ghia - Champagne Gold (5dr)
F Escort RS Turbo (still own)

J BMW 3 series, technically I never owned it but had it from the garage for a fortnight with a view to buy but realised it was crap and slow and had nothing but the badge)
Q Dutton Phaeton S3 - red
H Fiesta XR2i (written off by my bint of an ex)

Then I got my first Audi A4 1.6

H Fiesta RS Turbo (talked into selling by bint of an ex, should have kept the car and kicked her out)

P Audi A4 1.8 T Sport (current) phot taken at Silverstone doing the 0-60 sprint (7.4secs)

X Fiat Sceicento Sporting (got as a fix up and sell on)

R Audi A4 1.8T Sport (sold to tsportA4 for a bargain sum)

07 VW PAssat TDi (company car)

Short list

2002 - Vauxhall corsa c 1.2 sxi in metallic silver- shot water pump gasket on timing chain cover and warped head, luckily crashed it and got paid out which was a bonus, because i couldn't be ***** fixing it and was on apprentice wage at the time.

1997 - Audi A4 B5 1.8 in Casablanca White - great car, big jump from the crap corsa, had for 14 months or so now brother has it but is now in need of a little TLC.

1999 - Audi A4 B5 1.8T quattro sport volcano black - what can I say never want to part with it I just love it !!!

Oranoco how long did you sell the Fiesta RST?

A mate of mine had one and it looked exactly the same and was running around 200bhp, unfortunatly he wrote it off.

97 P Fiat Bravo 1.8 16v HLX, 17000 miles in one year, never missed a beat. Coolest car being a college boy and 18!

97 P Audi A4 2.8 30V QM, only used on weekends but I LOVE IT.

i do get bored quick yeah. I still have my C5 A6 4.2GS and B6 1.8tqs as well. Somehow i dont think the B5 beats alot of them cars. I bought it purely for a bit of modding in my spare time

'98 Fiat Cinquecento Sporting - Turbo'd mag featured and money pit... great fun though with over twice as much power as stock - got all turbo bits fitted onto a punto engine too

'00 Honda S2000 - sold my Bora and RX-7 to get it and was cool but ruined by a crap garage and it being keyed
'93 BMW 325i Saloon - Pimp wagon, skidded really well heh and used as a daily runner when S2000 engine let go
'91 Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) - Its amazing

B5 is great car.I like this car.Its provides Top speed is useful measurement. It is dependent on a few more variables than just power.B5 is my dream car.

My beloved mk2 GTI 16v that i had before my B5, some will hate but i loved it. Completly standard when i bought it, i treated it to big bumper kit, G60 arch's and skirts, smoothed boot and modified rear bumper, jetta front end and a full respray in kawasaki green, lowered 60mm on 17" kei's. That was a quick car for a standard engine, got 140mph out of it on the A1....just!!
