I ordered april 6th and have a build week of 34 - last week in August.

Bet mines the same week Adam, similar time of ordering, expected arrival Sept time then...?

IPOD dock in glove box is pretty crap, basically use it to charge the IPOD. As far as playing stuff - forget it. You can create 5 playlists on your IPOD then play "find the play lists" on your head unit.

To play the IPOD through the system you press the CD button once to play CD's, twice to play tracks off IPOD, and three times to access the AUX function, fourth press returns to CD. Problem is when you get to IPOD function you cannot see track names (or any information at all except "Track xxx"
You can use the streering wheel controls to skip forward-back etc.. but you don't know whats playing until you hear it.
As a stand alone option for around £200 its about as useless as they come. I've only got it because it came with the sound pack (6 x CD) and as "ADAM" says you're much better off burning MP3 discs to play in the unit.

I have ready to go on when I get it:

8000k D2S HID bulbs upgrade,
Front and rear gloss black Audi rings,
De-badging the back but leaving quattro badge(I will see how this looks and if it looks crap just on its own I will take it off),
I will also be getting the front audi ring painted red same colour as the car,
I have a dub sticker for the back window and a detailing world one,
New tax disc holder,
Getting the center wheel bolt covers painted in red same colour as car also :)

Thats all for now :)
 
Sounds good, what's are the bulbs all about? will they make a big difference from the standard ones?

Its like a piercing blue light! I just dont like yellow tints in headlights, always been like that! I have had 8000k HID's before and they made a huge difference lad. :) Plus they will match the LED running lights better than standard
 
Right fair enough, how much were they and do you think they will be easy to fit? Ive seen they also do 10,000 and 12,000k versions what made you choose 8000 over them?

Original order form said 1st of October, but after a spec change last week the new one says last week in September. :D

My new A3 BE has arrived at Manchester Audi but I'm getting married this weekend and now can't take delivery until 21st June :-( It's been a looooooong wait but it's finally 'landed' - can't wait, I'm like a kid in a sweet shop!!

Yeah lad they are sooo easy to fit, just pop the old ones out and the new ones in :) if u get stuck use the manuel that comes with the car to direct you, changing bulbs is one of the easiest things you can do to a car! I went for 8000k as iv had that before and is a nice crisp blue light but if you go any higher e.g. 10000k, 12000k they start getting purple and can be very dazzling for other drivers.


Went for these ones: D2S Xenon HID Headlight Bulb - 8000k (Blue tint) Upgrade

as I think they looked the best, also sold on autobulbsdirect for £103!!

I got the exact same ones for £42 on hids4u as I found a discount code that gave 25% off

The discount code was: STRATHY

haha yeah I am just doing wee mods to this car as it is coming pretty kitted out already :) I already have fog light bulbs from my bmw that I will put in the Audi, they are chrome ones so de-tango time :)

Thanks for this LongWait. I did a search on the Dension ipod unit and it's much better. So i'll be ditching the Audi one and saving my pennies for the Denison model.

Thanks Ibis, the trouble is i am limited as to how much i can spend each month as it is a lease car through my work. I couldn't get the black edition and the technology pack.

I had the call last week from Lex saying that i couldn't have the AMI so i'm now saving £5 a month by not having it! So looks like i will be getting a Dension

From what I've read it only shows the track names on the DIS however still seems to be the best product on the Market, I'm looking at getting the Dension 300 at the moment

Not really looked at retailers yet, going to wait until closer to my delivery date just in case they release a new version or update the firmware, but the 300 is currently about 150, thinking the 300 because you can also use a USB device / stick as well as an iPhone, just gives you more options that's all.

It's a company car, they didn't give me the option to pick it up and they're based miles away from me, so saves me the journey there! Although would've loved the journey back.

Well i had the call today from the lease company and the bad news is that the delivery has now gone back to December! Are all Audi delivery times this rubbish or is it just the BE A3?

Na I never went for the full leather, I thought the half leather looked more sporty in the Audi to be honest and a big waste of money in my opinion! Also I had leather in the Bimmer and it got wayyy to hot in the summer and wayyy to cold in the winter :(

Paul when did you order? Did they give you a reason for the delay? What was the full spec you've ordered?

Ah crap! :( ... I ordered 18th April and was given 1st November as expected delivery date ... it better not slip into December!! Grrr

My mate ordered his on the 4th of May and they told him early November for delivery!!!
