How to power up the A4 1998 cluster without the car in order to check display?

How to power up the A4 1998 cluster without the car in order to check display for the dead pixels?
 
You are aware that it is pretty simple & fast to remove the instrument cluster?

according to the diagrams i have, 12v on pins 9 (Red/Blue), 4 (Black/Red) and 14 (Red), ground on 18 (Brown)... Though do this at your own risk. Better yet, plug it into a car (any a4 of same age).... Dont want to be blamed for any feck ups, though i believe these colours/pins are right.:sorry:
 
may be you can show me the diagram or send the link to it?
