Product recall on 1.8 and above 2001 onwards

Popped into local Audi dealer regarding this campaign and new coils will be fitted this Friday morning.
Checked the part numbers last night and all six were "06C 905 115 F" so knew they needed replacing with version "M" based on the info link posted by CabbyFan.

Result I called Tamworth Audi today and its booked in for the 28th and I even asked about the one coil I had replaced a while back at the very same place and they said bring the paper work and we'll have a look at it!

So what are you guy's saying, they will only replace the coil packs that are original audi parts and not the ones that are not as i think my car has one with an orange top..............anyhow mines booked in on 14th and they asked me if i would like a courtesy car but they said it would only take an hour.

Cheers Jay

I just called my local dealer, they checked there system and mine is also due for the recall. So its booked in for monday, I replaced mine myself months ago. So I will be refitting the old ones before I take it in, so I have some spares

See post #81 there is a link to the Audi Campaign Bulletin - all explained there.

Had mine in at Hull Audi yesterday. Druelled at the R8's!
Was suprised to not get any paperwork but they changed them all so it should be fine.

Gonna ring up this weekend and see if mine needs done.

Thing is, my car runs on LPG, do you think this would be an issue?

3.0 V6

Thanks

Six new shiny red, (with black infill caps), coil packs installed this morning.
Gave me a letter saying what work had been done.

Do they need the car in for the day usually or will they swap while you wait?

If its day have they offered courtesy cars for the day?

Did anyone get anywhere with Audi paying for there previous purchase of coil packs?

I ask as mine went in today and I asked them if I would get a refund for the one I had to pay for last year as it failed they said no as it was replaced before the recall was issued?

Went to Audi today (coil pack recall), they only replaced 2 as the other 2 are fine. The new coilpack is a different design to old style and the top of the coilpack is Gloss Black.

Hi Guys,
I had my 2003 A4 1.8 T Quattro coil packs replaced by Audi Birmingham 4 days after hearing about this recall. It was excellent service by Audi, I did askl how much a coil pack would cost and the guy said something around the £37 mark !! Bit steep eh!! but that is not the worst thing, I asked how much do they charge for an hour and the quote was £118 + VAT !!!

Mickray, due to Audi only replacing 2 i bought 2 more from TPS at a total cost of £50.33p these are the nice New Style type .

Got mine done yesterday, 6 new coilpacks. Car feels no different but glad i bothered to sort it as it couldve cost me later on down the line.

Everyone should do this, not bad for the price of a phonecall!

I had a coilpack give out on me as I happened to be near Tetbury Audi (Glos).

Went in and asked for a coilpack and he did mention the recall, but said they only did it as part of a service or MOT?? It doesn't need an MOT for 7 months and I couldn't afford the service right now, so I paid £37 for the part and fitted it myself.

That seems like a load of ******** to me. Worth contacting Audi Uk Customer Services to verify.
I always keep a spare coilpack in the boot now in case I get stuck somewhere remote.

on a separate note a friend checked with Audi here in Finland, who agreed to change 2 of mine that need done. I just need to drive to the dealer 150km away :)

I've only ever heard good things about this lot as they are one of my local dealers, but this sounds fishy to say the least!

I visited audi bexley for the coil pack recall they tell me everythings fine.. I get back into the car to discover my interior light has been switched off, electric windows don't work, key fob for central locking fails to open doors!
I go back into them to tell them the faults, they say I have to re book car in with them to discover the faults!
What do they take me for???
My trust with them have totally gone out the window what an absolute bunch of ****ers if they think they can con money out of people.
I call a company called 4 rings who investigate the problem. They tell me the ecu has been tampered with a screwdriver which absolutely discussed me which had raised my suspicousions in the first place with bexley audi.
Please beware with these guys,it turns out I'm not the first!

Booked my 2002 A4 1.8T Sport into Audi Stockport even though its never been in there before and I have no service history book. Helpful lady said it had two re-calls against the registration (Coli Packs and Plenum Chamber Fix).
Work was completed yesterday. I now have four new Coil Packs, the knowledge that my brakes wont fail due to plenum chamber issues and also a full healthcheck with minor issues listed (even down to loose drivers door handle!). Car also recieved a quick valet. All this for free. I just mentioned to the sales man that I would re-book the car in for the minor issues but chances are I'll go to an independent. Well worth calling Audi though to check your car.

I asked Tetbury about the coilpack recall as I had one give out on me pretty much as I was passing their door.

They said it was only covered if was having other work done like a service or that 'free' MOT offer.

So I had to pay for a coilpack that replaced a faulty original and fit it myself.

that's utter ******** mate. I've been offered free replacements for my British car from a Finnish Audi dealer who has never seen my car before. You should speak to audi customer services to see about getting that one refunded. Check the part numbers on the rest before too to see if they need done.

Got mine replaced yesterday by Halesowen Audi in Brum. No health check and no wash. TBF they were ****e, made me fell as if i had done something wrong by contacting them!

Audi UK phoned me Wednesday to say no way should have Tetbury Audi charged me for a coilpack and let me fit it myself! And no way should they only change them if I'm paying for other work. He's going to get them to refund me the money.

So that's twice I've been there and twice they've scammed me. And twice they've ended up apologizing and giving me money.

I'm going to unstick this now as I think the majority are aware of it.

Mine were done yesterday at Guildford Audi. Very impressed, four new coil packs free of charge, including labour. stamp in the work done section of the service book and a 60 plate a3 sport cab for the day. Don't you just love it when the sun is out!!!!!!

Booked mine yesterday at Audi Hitchin, no charge for replacements and free health check

I got a letter through about it, gonna get mine done next week, i got a whole set of 4 when i got it remapped, when i first got the car a coilpack melted, i wonder if the tuners fitted the updated coilpacks??

Is there a cut-off point for this recall? I've just got mine but its *Cough* crash/damaged ..... so I don't think it would be appropriate to have this delivered to my nearest Audi dealer haha.
