Selling up mate???

Yep, did think it a bit strong cash wise, but its the sellers choice, who knows, may sell for it no problem!

it is strong for a stock model.
Given that it has a good specification i think it is fair and lets face it, it's priced to haggle.
Just fitted a complete set of drive shafts on friday too, she wants for nothing, i also have a set of track rod ends to go on this week.

I am looking to replace with something very frugal as i need to reduce my £450 a month fuel bill. don't get me wrong its not drinking like mad but my daily mileage is 85-95miles all A roads and motorway. still getting 370-400 to a tank.

byzan its S4 level looks and spec with none of the expensive servicing or fuel bills ;)

Adjust your driving style lol. My 1.8t FWD used to get 480 to a tank driving on A roads doing 65 miles a day. A lot of it stuck in start stop traffic too.

most i managed out of our old FWD was 420miles, and that was all motorways at an indicated 80mph.

Driving at 60mph like he suggests could easily see that climb a bit further, although stop start soon kills the MPG so i'm not convinced about that bit.

I drove really carefully to see what I could get from a tank the other week and resisted all urges to give it some man foot (it nearly killed me lol) and managed 430 miles

I am lucky to get 300 miles out my 2.8 30v. Good job I only drive it on the weekends! Petrolholic.

Changing gear at 2k, being very light on the pedal. Never going above 70 on the 24 or so miles on dual carriage way i`d drive a day. 480 was the max. But on average it was 460-470. I did 65miles a day Bedford to St Ives and a full tank would last me 7 working days which is 450ish and then rest would be any private miles during weekends or after work. Doing that sort of mileage ie over 20k a year i had to try my best to save on fuel. changing my driving style to the above and changing my route from less 70mph heavy traffic dual carriage way(A1 and A14 in rush our is a fuel raper!) to single 60mph roads where its not as busy gained me about 80-100miles per tank.

Tying to save monies :p Cannot see boost or else wallet cries lol. Although now i only like 6 miles from work it doesnt apply anymore and is now drinking 99 for a nice change and the turbo see`s some use lol.

To be fair... it is a little on the high side, even for me.

But saying that, I sold my saloon for £3,250 and you all said it was far too highly priced when I first advertised it.

There are people out there that are prepared to pay the money for decent cars, no matter their age.

It's all down to presentation in the advert. You've got to attract them and draw them in. It's a game...

450 from a tank!?! what are you putting in it! Diesel?!

Jesus. I am lucky to get 250!
I didnt buy a turbo'd motor and sort the suspension out to "resist urges"!!

Your quattro though, which makes quite a difference tbh, plus the tanks a gallon smaller as well.

Best i've had from the quattro is about 390, and that was all motorway driving at around 65-70mph and running it until it said zero miles on the DIS and then driving a futher 10 miles to get to the petrol station :p
Typically see 340ish to a tank doing motorway driving and running it down to a sensible level, 280-300 if around town.

Im down to 280-300 now i`ve cut my miles a lot and its all down driving bar a quick blast down a dual carriageway for a mile. Be a lot less if i still lived in MK. Fuel will drop very slowly driving around Bedford. Soon as i drive to and around MK it drops like a rock. Damn roundabouts lol.

I have had over 400 out the tank in my quattro. Think it was about 420 or something. Was from gatwick up north. I reckon i could have made it to glasgow but didnt want to chance it.

just to add.
the car was sold to a nice guy called kevin from croydon, he seemed as excited to be buying the car as i was upset at selling it!

i'm now rolling deep in a tdi bora... not quite as exciting but needs must to drop my fuel bills.

anyway this is adios, lots of useful info had on here.
