Hi peeps,

Was just wondering... of all the people on here who own S3's.... who uses it as a daily car and who uses it as a weekend only car???

What are peoples thoughts....?

Cheers!

Evenings and Weekends for me. I drive 80 miles (all motorway) each day for work so I've got a little polo to do the miles instead of the S3!

But when I do drive the S3, I don't hang around!

daily car at the mo, but a 1000 miles a month is gonna kill this car, so i need a cheap runaround sharpish

Used to be a daily driver for me, however not anymore. Its now a evenings and weekend driver for me too.
Since moving sites, the short journey (less than 10 miles) doesnt allow the car to get up to temperature. Plus the fall out from the site is not nice. So it stays in the garage all nice and clean waiting for some proper attention.

So its Astra diesel for me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bang.gif

A weekend car? The S3?? How come ???

I was just thinking today how much I missed the S3 in this weather, and quite fancy one as a daily beater! (if only I could afford to run one as a beater!)

weekends and some evenings for me...

Got a ford KA for my daily commute /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif...I get 300+ miles out of £20 of fuel in the KA /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Ade

Use mine daily.

Ive payed a lot of money for my dream mota /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/1luvu.gif and I want my monies worth.

Think im doing a fine job as well /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

60K in three years - definately a daily car /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I would definately class a S3 is a daily car!!

I would buy something like a Lotus Elise or a S2000 for a weekend car or if I had a second car for going to work.

The S3 is not some car just for the odd blast or a car that is going to keep its value. Its going to depreciate so you may as well use it!!

Oh yeah and i get the bus to work. Just kidding.

Daily for me. Not far each day but I have fun gettin' there! 2000 miles in 4 months.

Mine is a weekend car, but get used daily at every opportunity, especially with the snow and ice on the roads, Quattro really comes in handy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif

well people!!

I got alot of time for you all.....mine at the moment is a daily car.... but have a 100mile round trip to work and back everyday so am worried about stone chips etc etc..... but its only got 33k miles so plenty of time to worry!!!

Plus, I just filled up with optimax (optimax only for me /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif ) and i really booted it from the petrol station (up the slip road M3) and oh my god..!! it FLEW... which gave me a nice little tingle!!!

All I have to do now is justify the cost in fuel which will now double!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Think its worth it though!!

Anyhow guys, thanks for the inputs and keep them coming!!

Bah!
Yans - loving the S3 action!

Yeah but I personally get no fun sitting on the motorway doing 70 / 50 / 0 with the congested drive into work during rush hour! So I may as well put the miles on a £500 car than the S3. I agree its not the same type of car as a elise but the more miles on the S3 the less you'l get when you come to sell it.

Plus you'l save loads on wear and tear etc.

Rich.

Daily car - 4 mile a day round trip for me to work - I've done about 6K in this first year of having it!!

It would be cheaper on the bus, but they just don't seem to have the same sort of power!!

Beat you! 17,000 miles in 7 months!
Mine is a daily driver.
I bought a low miler specifically because I was doing a lot of miles, and wanted to enjoy driving them.
Only on 29k now, not bad for a 2001.

Daily car - I did 35k miles in 12 months in my last one!

Just bought another one from Shagga and intend to add 30k miles by the end of the year!

Daily car, because then I come to work with a smile every single day /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Good choice (the S2000) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif although mine is my daily driver

Daily car with a smile a day guaranteed, only car that ever came close was an Alfa 156 GTS and even after that I was glad to get back to the Audi.

Oh yes!

I used my car for work for around 18months (now got a company smoker).

Was brilliant. Got paid 40p a mile to drive my pride and joy all over Scotland, fantastic!

Just use it for weekends and nice nights through the week now.
