As above took my injectors off as i am running rich and ultrasonically cleaned them...
After reading funky junkys post about the pipe breaking down into the injector at badgers, i thought it was worth a shot...
There were no signs of anything like that so off into the cleaner they went.......
5 mins later took them out, reinstalled and wow its like driving a new car..!:w00t:
unbelievable difference, idle is smooth, delivery is super smooth...what a cracking morning ive had...
did S3gazz,s too and he has had the same results and is grinning like a cheshire cat....
s3 gazz,s were very dirty.
mine had the TT 225 injectors with the long nose in (blue) 385cc on 3 bar 440 on 4 bar
I have some 630cc to go in when i get my map sorted...
so get them cleaned lads you wont believe the difference....:thumbsup:

Did you use water or cleaning solution?
Also full submerse the injector or just the tip?

good results, but still expensive, it worth buying one between a few local members, then all using it, even if its 5people, that makes it just les than £9 each

i used james sea solution 1 cap full with hot water.... fully submersed
it works out at £12 per injector then you have the cleaner for life.... does allsorts, jewellry, small car parts etc
It cost around £30 per injector to get proffesionally cleaned so its not that dear...

Are they ok fully submersed?
A friend of mine always does his in the dishwasher (with no tablet)

I always thought that you had to make the injectors work while they are being cleaned, well that's what I was told by a place that does them obviously they were talking bullocks to make some money as you have had results from doing it this way.

The cleaners a good price, It's well worth buying as it has many uses and it will come in handy for future cars and other peoples, not to mention I'd charge other people for doing it lol.

im sure the cleaning works, but the reason i fill up with v-power everytime is not only because its higher octane for performance, but i thought it was for keeping things very clean like the injectors.

@Bengal..Im not saying it is as good as a proffesional clean but its worked 100% and you are right it as 100s of uses

The fact that you've had good results from yours and s3gazz's is good enough proof that it works for me :icon_thumright:.

I use V power ....so its not that good at cleaning....
Dont forget fuel and injector cleaners can only go one way, so get them injectors off and spring clean....

How easy are the injectors to remove? If you have time might be worth a How To Guide, Dave?

So how easy are they to remove dave? I want to clean mine and also replace the rubber fuel lines and clean my fpr! Do you have to disarm the fuel pump or anything like that or can you just pop the injectors out? Dont want fuel ******* out everywhere lol.

Tufty and bill cleaned mine and it their removal and refitting didn't look difficult TBH. One thing I did learn though was that if you're doing this job, don't open the drivers door part way through as doing so primes the fuel pump, and could lead to fuel everywhere!

thread useless without a how to Dave....come on :whip:

Think ill be investing too.
Could make a list (similar to the vagcom list) of areas people have ultrasonic cleaners lol.

Watched a video of a pro company cleaning injectors - they hook each one up so it fires off whilst in the bath.

This seems to be the best and most common way of cleaning them if you dont access to a sonic bath...

it does look like you really need to be able to actuate the injectors to get them properly clean

lol on it like a car bonnet....To be fair it is straight forward......

I just pulled the clip of the FPR and pulled the FPR out with some cloth in my hand ....very little fuel spill.
Undo the injector wiring connectors i just pulled all the little wire clips out.
2 alan cap head bolts to remove then just ease the fuel rail up out of the manni,
All fuel lines in and out remain connected,
Just pull the injectors out of the fuel rail and clean them
refitting is the same backwards..
Estimated time....1 hour back on the road....
pics to follow next one i do .....sandip?

How did they clean them?
Good heads up about the door....

So the fuel pump doesnt need tobe disarmed or anything dave?

Did you fully submerge the injectors including the electrical part? Do the injectors just pull out?

so you literally just took the injectors out, put them in the ultrasonic bath and then refitted? do you need to let them dry? how can you ensure your not going to inject some of the cleaning fluid into the engine onece reconnected?

yes, the fluid is mainly hot water so they dry straight away, It would not harm the engine anyway....

Would disconnecting the battery be as good as pulling the fuel pump fuse? Doing my stat thursday an im oulling the battery for that so would it be just as good?
