Ok, so I have had my car for a couple of weeks and I have been thinking about a remap. My car is a 2010 S-tronic BTW.

I have read a lot of threads on here and via google, and I have come to the following conclusions:

2 main companies Revo and Superchips.
Revo offer a c.300bhp remap. Superchips similar at 310bhp.
There are other companies which offer bespoke maps but they are not as well tested and as such I think I will go for either Revo or Superchips.

Now, a slight issue is there seems to be quite a lot of evidence online that the S3 puts out between 280 and 290bhp as standard. I have also seen a few threads that mention that the Superchips maps have not really produced the numbers.

So, as a question to owners how much faster is your car with your remap? Have you timed the car with and without the map?

I will not be making any more mods to the car by the way.

Superchips is perfect for me, its DIY and I can take the map on and off the car. But I am put off by the comments about power figures, and on one case there was a mention that a stock S3 was putting out more power than a car which had Bluefin. But this was a couple of years ago I think.

I know this topic has been discussed quite a bit on here but I dont want to spend £500-£600 on a map and not get the best option for me. IYSWIM.

Comments welcome!

revo has a good rep and lots of people will rave about it on here

ive used evolve (have a look at my sig for figures) its a staggering map and is a diy installation as well with their switch box

Thanks for the info, I will get in touch with them.

Does anyone have any comments on Bluefin of late? Anyone had a RR session recently with a similar age and spec car to mine?
Ta!

Marc2010 (think thats his username) had the evolve added to his 2010 model, not sure if he was a s tronic tho.
If you have got any questions about the evolve map drop me a pm and I'll so my best to help.

You mean me?

My S3 is 2010 with s-tronic and so far so good with the Evolve map.
Decent map too and very handy with the switch so you can revert at any time.

There stage 1 map has also been beaten a Revo stage 2 car at a dyno day i'm informed :p

My bad yea sorry Matt... Had a late night and my brain isn't fully working haha

Yea their maps are very strong. Will be interesting to see what mine produces once I take it stage 2 and then get a custom map for stage 2+ equivalent.

Thanks guys - I have been in touch with them. They seem fairly straight up about their product and their RR plots show proper before and after figures not the pie in the sky OE curves with their own curve on the top so its looking like I might well end up going down that route, esp as the map is uploaded DIY too and can be taken off if needed also DIY. Will do a bit more research over the next couple of days...

Good choice
Was it Imran you spoke to? He really knows his stuff!

Imran is the man.

I've had maps from them for my 335d and Disco 3 - all ran well until selling cars.
Just a shame the switches cant be used on more than one car.

By evolve.... Do you mean evolution chips? A garage local to us has started with evolution chips remap's. A bit wary because I've heard naff all about them.

Na totally different company, I'm talking about evolve automotive (think thats their full name) And as far as I know they don't have any resellers in Scotland.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

I have posted a special offer for ASN members in the sponsors section here.
