XS Power K04 Manifold for 210/225 S3

Looks good lad, time will tell I guess. You deserve an "up" on the rollercoaster ride!

Good on you Welly, i love watching your threads lol. Will defo be keeping an eye on this, good luck with it!

Arent the bolts for the turbo-mani a pain in the ring to get to though?
Do you take the head off, fit mani and turbo and slot all that in together?

And lol, sorry for all these questions, did porting the standard mani collector make any difference at all?

I've had some SS studs knocked up dude, that's how I plan to do it. I'll fit the other two holes using OEM bolts, and then use a stud, nordlock washers and a big *** nut to secure the third one. You can get a spanner in there. Just.

What is the wall thickness on the pipe used?

If its 1.5mm it simply wont last.

If its nice and thick 2.5-3mm pipe of the correct grade (321) then you might have half a chance.

strange my 1.2mm thick primary designs manifold lasted 2 race seasons, and remains perfect now...
its NOT material thickness but quality of material AND manufacturing methods employed which make things reliable from those which are'nt

welly can you let me know who you are contacting? (xs power usa?)
I got in contact with relentless performance (here in the USA) and my order for a manifold and a dpipe is on hold now since my S3 is for sale for the moment (a couple of guys interrested so im taking offers, if someone meets my expectations i will sell, im a car dealer, family business)

But if it dont get sold this month, ill process my order with relentless performance (xs power) and fit those in spring time.

OK, so a few mods required to actually get the manifold to fit - but definitely a far cry from the last manifold.

Firstly, whilst the holes on the flange were better, they weren't quite perfect and has to be opened up with the Dremel to allow fitment onto the head.

Also, the runner on cylinder 1 was VERY close to the head itself. This head has a small part ground away from test fitting the last manifold, however is this wasn't ground away, it would have contacted.

Exceptionally close - closer than would be ideal anyway. Bill is going to/has put a dent in the tube for me to help with clearance issues.

Photos to follow tonight hopefully... If I make it up there.

Found you, little secret squirrels. Good thread, watching with interest. You just know it can't be worse than a certain other manifold that cracks for fun and is still being sold. :applaus:

....and that's how rumors start.

Since Welly's situation the sales of the 034 K04 high flow manifold have come to a halt. We have a few companies in the UK testing the coated ones but I am not going to disclose who , what or where so if thats what you mean by "sold" then you are certainly mistaken.

and a little FYI , 2 of our test customers "upgraded" from the OBX manifold. You all can have your laughs and have your giggles but show some respect in the process....thats all that I ask.

I agree, he knows the situation, let him make it good now...

Yep, I'd also go with this.

I am throuhgly looking forward to a replacement product being shipped when one becomes available. However, this is currently an unknown on timeframes, I am going with another product currently.

Issam asked me to test the last 1st batch manifold since I'm not hybrid (GT2871R eliminator). I'll be installing it this spring and I'll keep youy posted about the results. He told me also that the new batch will indeed have a better casting with more nickel

That would be good if you would.

Itching to get on and fit this manifold now, I really am. I have booked off the week starting the 7th Feb to get on it and get it done.

I can't even remember how many times this head has been off now, it's becoming crazy.

hope it all goes well for ya mate

iv just asked a place near me if they can make a manifold and he said ye so ill be giving him a ko4 manifold
to copy from.

he showed me one for a mg and looked great and well made

Tell him to remember how he made it. If it's any good, I'll be wanting one. Maybe. lol

lol i will ha

he said when spoke to him if he spends a full week on it it could be made that sound 2 quick to u does me

need a ko4 manifold for him really ill see what he says thursday

ye ill tell him that is there anything else i need to tell him bill

to help him he will likely need a top section of a downpipe so the clearance to that can be made, and allowance for the lambda fitment etc.. as well as a turbo, so orientation etc. AND also remember access to do the bolts up to the turbo.

Intrigued to see what he comes up with... he might not want to make another if it proves a pig.. BUT in the event he does, mention to him it may sell well if it works well and proves reliable..

What material will he be making it from and where welded will it be backpurged during welding?
