Can anyone help the search seams to be up the spout? What’s the 1/4 mile time of a standard 225 S3? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/book.gif

Just one more thing I am thinking of the Revo upgrade what difference does this make to the 1/4 mile and does anyone recommend this upgrade?

Thank you for any advice.

Ive had the Revo upgrade and love it.

Highly recommended by myself /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ok.gif

14.3 that sounds good to me 13.8 sounds even better.

You had any problems with the Revo Taffy, does it make that much diffrence??

Had it done about 3mths ago now and after the 5hr free trial I had to have it.

It takes it from 210 to about 265bhp which is a very noticeable difference /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/groovy.gif

Put it this way I smiled a lot driving the car before, but now I cant take the grin of my face /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/woohoo.gif

Now problems since having it done either /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Auto car did a test on the standard 225 S3 and they quoted 15 secs dead at 94mph for the standing quarter.

I'd think 13.8 secs for a chipped one is being a bit optimistic!

assuming 265hp real power, it should be about 14secs 1/4 mile with a terminal speed of about 100

according to http://www.letstorquebhp.com/ and thier figures correlate well with the measured ones for the 225hp s3

I've managed a 14.3 @ 93mph. I thought that was pretty good, but it turned out I had a faulty MAF sensor (it wouldn't hold boost).

MAF changed, I tried again... this time with 19's on... 14.3 again.

Both time running a 1.1bar boost.

I think high 13s are easily achievable with a higher boosting map.

What is the std boost level then? You running +/- 265?

The best I ever managed was 14.5 on 19".

Grant has proven that the bigger wheels, surprizingly don't make that much of a difference.

I did see an older one do sub 14 though. Remember the pre-facelift cars are lighter.

ive seen many standard S3's run 14.5 at santa pod... Think the fastest was 14.45 for a standard S3. sub 14's are doable in a chipped S3.

When I first got 14.3, the boost would hit 17psi then fall to 10psi on every gear... hence faulty MAF.

The second time I got 14.3 was when I had 19s on... 17psi boost dropping to 15psi.

High boosting S3's should get into the 13s.

Rolling roaded at Star after fitting my Supersprint exhaust was 270bhp... peak boost 17psi.

My ECU has since been mapped again by AmD with a more agressive map, although I'm still not boosting high enough - I need to try a new MAF I think.

So 14.5 is about it for standard, at least thats better than my 172 i part xed?

to be fair.. i would quote around 15.2 for a standard and below 15 depending on chip etc...

reason i say this is cos i ran my 3.2 at santa last year in june at the GTI Festival and the lowest i got was 15.1 given that it was the first time on the strip.

i rekcon i could get around 14.9 if i really did well..

at the last northwest meet me and mark had a little run on the way home and i didnt pull away from him and he didnt pull away frrom me..and with his been chipped also..

my 2cents.

I would be inclined to go a bit lower than that, but it really depends if you're willing to risk the clutch or not.

My A3T has run a 15.29 1/4, but this was my first time, the car had only been chipped for 3 days, I held onto 2nd too long (Great 0-60 time though!) and I know there are other A3T's with faster times.

So with the above taken into consideration the S3 is a dam sight quicker off the line, and with the extra gear shift needed i would expect a standard S3 to be under 15 by a bit.

I've run a 14.61 in my chipped S3.
It was my first time on the strip (with helmet on so couldn't hear engine etc.) and it was dubbed a 'slow' day due to weather.
I was also on the border of gear change and didn't have enough runs to work out which way was best..

Also Imola S3.. I have just installed a blitz digital boost gauge and I'm peaking at 1.5 bar (22psi)under hard acceleration but that doesn't seem to hold at that. Another thing i have noticed is that it only gets up to that level in 1st/2nd. It may only boost upto 1 bar in 4th for example. Is this correct or a dodgy maf (although the car was plugged in last weekend and nothing showed up)

So if mine is boosting at 20psi I should get a nice low time then...

I doubt it... red cars are slow! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

LMFAO

I have a slip from santapod somewhere when I took the car to japfest!!

Ran a 14.1 and that was with a terrible 2nd to 3rd gear change :-/

That was my best run on the day. (I was running full boost too).

I think I could have got a better time if:-
** I got the launch spot on.
** Didn't **** up the gear change.
** Wasn't tempted to go all the way to the redline, change about 5500-5700rpm ish. Instead of bouncing off the rev limiter a couple of times.
