Hello everyone.
On January 28th I am scheduled to test the following intake manifolds (assume throttle body exit is cased on a RHD vehicle):

  • Dhalback Racing - passenger side exit
  • SEM Motorsport - passenger side exit
  • APR Motorsport - passenger side exit
  • RMR - passenger side intake
  • OEM BAM intake manifold - passenger side exit
  • Skoda WRC intake manifold - driver side exit
  • ABD Racing intake manifold - driver side exit
  • OEM AWP intake manifold - driver side exit
The test will be very similar to what I did with the DBW throttle bodies:
VWVortex.com - TECH : TEST 1 OF 3 | Throttle Body Sizing

considering the majoirty of these intake manifolds will be used in Audi S3/ Audi TT / VW motors with swaped around intercooler set ups i figured I would post in here to see if there is anything specific you guys would like to see done in the test?
thanks.

What will be the spec of the motor that the inlets will be tested on? hp?

Most people on this forum haven't gone down the BT road yet so i'm sure they would like to see the test on a mildly modified motor i'e hybrid, steel rods, remap, wmi, down pipe. etc These people want more but don't want to spend the money of a BT just yet and looking for every bolt on modifications they can.

the issue with smaller turbo's when using them for dyno tests is that they dont amplify the results. On the throttle body test the reason we saw the big differences between the throttle bodies was because we used a turbo that flow 40+ lbs/min vs a turbocharger that flowed half of that.

OK, It's May now, any results from this as I am looking to buy an inlet manifold shortly.
