Hi, im new to the forum. Just got some 18" rs6 replicas on goodyear f1s (225/40/18) for new shape a3, but the tyres looks as if theres no air in them. Does anybody know whats wrong and what the correct psi is? And also what do I do if one of the tyres burst I cant put the spare one on cos its a different size, isnt it?

Hi and welcome!

Depends on how heavy your car is and how many passengers you take on average
Personnally my car was 1577kg (check on the white sticker on 1st page of log book) and we were never more than 2 people. So with my 18'' BBS (on Dunlop sport 9000 225/40/18) I found that 39PSI front and 41PSI back was great.
It is different to the factory setting (ie: more pressure on front wheels than back) but I wanted more front grip and less at the back to reduce understeer and it worked well with the Quattro.

I have also tried lower (down to 34) and higher pressure (up to 44) combinations but those felt the best.
Also I got that feeling that there is no air all the time unless I was at the highest pressure. It could just be due to the tyre wall strength which are not great on Eagle's (and apparently on Dunlop?)

Cheers

Just been out to check mine (18" RS 6) and they are at 25psi rear and 30psi front! that's even less than recommended for 16" wheels according to the sticker on the fuel filler cap. What's even more helpful is that there are no recommended pressures for 18" wheels, even though they are standard!

Either they've lost a lot of pressure over the first 6k, or the dealer didn't bother to pump them up properly.

Thanks for info StephV6 and Paul_M!

I'll go and check the psi with a pressure reader first, probs just under inflated then!

Cheers

On my car their is a sticker on the fuel flap hinge specifically for 18" wheels. I will check the pressures and advise.

Checked mine this morning too.

There is an additional sticker on the hinge of the fuel cap which details 18" wheels. I assume its on all models as mine is an Sline. Anyhow, its 33psi front and 30psi rear for 1-2 passengers.
