Hey i know this is a very covered topic but..... i can't find anywhere that sells the replica aluminium mirrors, can only find the chrome ones, which i don't like!! Looking at part numbers A4/S4 5B ones should also fit.

Anyone know where i can get replica aluminium 'look' ones? and yes i did try ebay!!

Some just paintede satin silver would be better than the chrome eBay ones if you really dont want body coloured ones.

damn it!! there is no chance of me fitting ebay chrome ones!!!
My S3's mirrors are body colour now but have been sprayed badly and need sorting out, i guess it had alu ones at some point but got nick and replaced with normal ones :-(

Its all a personal choice, I took off my chrome/alloy/bling mirrors and went for painted ones, one of the best things I ever did to the car personally.

The genuine ones are ****** expensive so thats probably why they get nicked! A few quid on paint and a bit of time preping and you could create a good painted finish either body colour or a satin/brushed silver

good plan, i've got a spare set of painted ones so i'll give it a go,

might do one noggy and the other 'aluminium' silver and see what comes out best!!

i did have the paint code for the RS4 colour but seem to have lost it :)

that said if your going for matt alu colour like the RS4 id be using a bodyshop for definate, so much margin for error on finish and the hardness will be open to stone chips

i had originally asked a bodyshop about painting them which was going to be about £100 for the pair,

then i remembered seeing these rs4 look ones for the Mk4 Parts4Euro.com - OEM & Aftermarket European Parts & Accessories for VW, Audi, BMW, Mini & Porsche they would do them for £45 delivered.... but i now know these will not fit a S3

Thanks for heads up about rs4 paint code i'll have a google

I actually don't mind the alu or body coloured, as i've got a spare set i might see what finish i can achieve, the audi rattle can and lacquer sets are £13 so quite cheap to try out.... plus i have so much free time, it will give me something to do next week!!
