Cant get the Audi A4 jack back into its storage container. I've tried many different positions and angles and I can't get it back into place. 2003 A4 Avant

Any help much appreciated.

Thanks

Would like to be able to help mate but can't as I have the same problem, no matter how many different ways I tried it. Quite frustrating. Hopefully someone might be able to post a pic to help us.

I just took mine out (I've never used it) - took me ages to get the f**kin thing back in again lol!

Its quite hard to photograph, but hopefully it will help, it's a very tight fit in where I've arrowed, but it does go.

Then go buy a trolley jack ......

i would take the mick,, but i aint tried it yet,, so ill keep shtum!

Ha ha, i had exactly the same problem last weekend, swapped fronts and backs over on my quattro, then struggled for over 40 minutes trying to put the stupid poxy jack back in its compartment. The handle needs to be forced slightly so it fits snug against the side of the jack body, there is also a flat on the plastic handle that is also tight against the jack body. Good engineering or a pain in the ***?

When i first pulled the one out of my boot it took me a couple of goes too put it back
****** thing :)

cheers mate

pity about the arch but i will sort that out asap, & i am looking in to getting a ipod & some how link it to the audi sat nav thingy rns-e i think it is called.

however i will try the jack holder again as it is still not right ;)

Thanks Guys, will try tomorrow, relieved i'm not the only one too. Lol

just push it in lol if you look at james pics when you have the jack arm how he does just push it in it will not brake as its flexible plastic.

James i'll keep that pic as the last time mine came out it very nearly ended up in the river!!

Many Thanks Guys, my issue turned out to be the handle which had to be forced to get it into the position in James's pics. Once handle in correct position, the jack fitted back into the plastic case nicely.

Cheers.

Thanks- thats been bugging me for a week- the trick is forcing the handle

also spent 30mins doing mine after taking it out to clean the boot.did get it in eventually but lid is still not quite closed but i'm afraid to take the ****** back out again!!!!!!!!!

I resurrect this thread in the name of 1 hour of cursing and getting ****** wet through this morning....... Absolute pain to get back in place when kissing down and snapping because just spent 15 mins changing wheel in pouring down conditions.... Scrabbling around on wet tarmac in Armani jeans and Hugo boss hoody..... Eff you Audi engineers.

Just had a puncture spent 20 minutes and it still won’t go back in properly what kind of design is this I knew I should of took a picture before I took it out ARGGGGG

I had the same trouble a couple of times until I discovered how the jack folds up. In the first photo, the handle will fold up to this position, but the will be stick out and prevent you from fitting it into the holder/cradle. Just push the handle firmly toward the jack body, and it will snap into place next to it. That's the key. I hope this helps.
