Can anyone help plz. I have a poor radio reception on fm stations in certain areas and my am/mw reception is non existent. From what i can remember the am/mw reception was always no existant, but fm was fine. From what i understand there is a booster built into the symphony head unit and it sends a 12v down co-ax to aerial is this correct?. Also is there any more to this ie other components or wiring elsewhere in the car which could cause this to happen?

Can anyone help on this matter? Thanks

I have the same problem and would be very much interested in if there is a solution? my Fm stations are patchy at best

I have a problem with my 8P. Reception can be fine, but after a while, the RDS doesn't seem to be able to lock on, and it skips every 5 secs or so. Turning off RDS helps in the short term, but eventually ALL signal will be lost.

if you have an aftermarket headunit i believe you need some kind of connection for a booster. Think there is a wire that needs connecting onto the remote feed. Thats what my mk4 golf needed, id imagine its fairly similar.

Mine is original head unit with this problem. But yeah, I am aware of this problem with aftermarket stuff as there is no external aerial on the 8P so you need to power the rear screen or something, had to do this today with the S4.

Mine is original head unit also but not to sure if it is the original aerial but i am sure fm reception was better that it is now.
