Hi again guys,

I'm just wondering who the new car buyers are using these days for the best discounts. I've tried the usual suspects online like Drive The Deal, Broker4cars and UKcarbroker and I'll also be contacting a couple of the dealers that I have used previously (Perth and Leicester). Anyone had a good deal recently and can recommend a particular dealer or broker?

I'm looking at getting rid of the 3 door S3 and replacing it with an S4. My wife's pregnant and after considering all the advice on this forum and from friends we have decided that the 3 door with buckets is going to be a nightmare for us.

Once I get an idea of the best price for the S4 I'll be sticking the S3 up for sale. Watch this space.

Cheers.

Managed to get about 10.5% from Bettercardeal !

The 'WHat CAr' Target price hotline is good - they recommend a dealer in your area (Wimbledon Audi for me!) that can match or in my case beat the discount published in the magazine - and with no fee to you. There is the discount applied to the extras aswell so it all mounts up - I saved over 17% from new so got Opensky, Stronic and other extras that came to what you would spend for the basic Sline. Anyone else used it? Its worth a look.

17%???? That's some deal! Most I've ever heard around here is about11%

Didn't bother with discounts from online brokers. Simply walked into a dealership, asked for a trade-in price against my vehicle and left them. Dealer phoned me back the same afternoon and negotiated over the telephone. By tea time the deal was sealed. 10% off new S3 ready for delivery in Oct

I know what you are saying but it gives you an idea what to hit the dealers with.

Sorry. After re-reading my post and your original post, I don't think it was helpful. No idea what ball park figure you should be aiming for against an S4. I would have thought that a standard 10% discount off any new vehicle is quite achievable. When I'm looking at purchasing a new car, I go into the dealers with a reasonable and fair figure that Im prepared to pay and it's up to them to meet it. (I don't ask for an unrealistic figure). I don't waste their time and I don't want them to waste my time. I'm assertive and take control of the situation. The dealer has one chance to get the deal. If they can't match it, then fair enough and I leave. I don't like auctioning one dealer against another. IMO it's bad business and 'dog fighting' between dealerships.

When I ordered my A3 a month ago I originally used buyacar.co.uk however they put up their prices by 6% (so only 7% off RRP). I looked at Audi's used car locator and saw which dealerships offered the best second hand deals I then contacted a few to negotiate a price. By the end of the day I secured a 11.4% discount with Crewe Audi. Just counting down the days till 1st September.

Nice discount. Are you getting the car delivered or are you picking up?

Picking it up, I'm only about 80 miles away so didn't even ask about delivery.

Ah I see! I usually get them delivered to the door.....gets the neighbours' curtains twitching :) Our first A3 came from Leicester and we stay in Glasgow so had to have it transporter delivered. Leicester beat all the Scottish dealers and that included the delivery!!!
