Hi all,

I installed cruise on my A3 last year with no probs. I recently installed the hardware for a colleague, and upon trying to activate the cruise by loggin into the module with '11463' got the following error:

VCDS Login Invalid
'Login Code not Accepted by Controller'

I have tried searching the forums for answers but no luck. I got some google results about some modules not supporting this, and that people configured cruise using the long coding - but I cant find how you would do this.

Here are some VCDS extracts:

Any help appreciated

Cheers

That steering controller does not support cruise control
You need part number 8P0 953 549 F. (£140 ish )

Alternatively part number 1K0 953 549 AF supports CC but operates differently i.e the 'set' button in the end does not operate but all the functions can be accessed by up/down/push/pull.

Just done the conversion on my 2005 2.0l TDI sportback with the 1K0 controller which was already installed.

From my research the 1K0 953 549 AH does support it (I must admit that initially I didnt think it did). I have coded the steering wheel controller up for cruise, and the functionality has been tested using measuring values in VCDS.

My problem is activating cruise within the engine module - unless somehow i cant enable it in the engine module because the steering controller doesnt support it? I cant imagine the engine module is interrogating the steering controller, and preventing me enabling it as it knows the steering controller doesnt support it?

Thanks for the input.

What does it say when you try to code it?

Im not sure about AH, I know it doesn't support a multi function steering wheel.

Hi -

the SWC took the coding for cruise - saying coding 'accepted' - and when I look at 'measured values' in VCDS I can go to the group that includes cruise, and it registers the button presses etc.

Its the engine module I cant configure. I found an old thread on the VCDS section which mentions something about the normal '11463' method not working with some controllers?

Its a bit strange.
