Update: It was really running very badly today started it up after a gave it a damn good clean and it sounded like ****! I had a good poke around the engine bay and found nothing other than it needs some a couple of wishbone bush`s. Now before I go ordering a new coil pack any ideas??

Yeah i contacted Audi of Dublin a few weeks ago about this recall and they said my car is not covered?

Oh thats a relief, how much are they do you know? Just out of interest what difference does it make as to which cylinder is mis firing, surely the whole pack is replaced? Thank you for such a quick reply

Hi all 2001 A3 1.6 After my girlfriend dropped me off at work I noticed the car was mis-firing and generally running like a bag of nails! Its struggling to pull away cleanly, once your cruising its fine but you start to accelerate again its starts fussing. HT leads? Coil pack...

The car in question is my OHs car, it's a 2001 1.6 A3. Now , it feels sluggish to me (yes I know it only has 102 bhp) its just that it feels lethargic, like its pulling a trailer. The emissions light is on and I got someone to plug it into a VAGCOM, basically it came down to the temp sensor...

I dont really want to return it anyway, love the car. I don't think its anything serious, just worried that its gonna crap out on me in the middle of no where. I shall book it into Audi tomorrow, failing that i'll just call the AA out! J

Hi We have only had our 2001 1.6 for a few days now. The water temp gauge has not been showing anything since we got it and the fan comes on very soon. When we went round to see the car it had a flat battery but it charged fine then started 1st time the next day. coming the other night...
