Are the sub and amp actually separate or is it all just one big plastic "active" lump? Could you just remove the sub section and use the amplified signal to power an aftermarket unit? What power rating is the OEM amp if so?

Back to my first post: Using VAG-COM yesterday we read the MAF actual which stated it should be 210-350 mg/str, but was reading live at idle with the engine warm at around 550. Is this to be expected?

Yeah, a heavy right foot might cause some of my MPG issues...! Does anyone have an answer for my MAF read out VS what it should be however? Even if it doesn't change my MPG I'd like to know one way or another.

It sounds as if the contacts inside the starter motor are only connecting intermittently. If you really want to go for the 50 profiles you should buy and trial fit them. Worst comes to worst they will catch (immediately obvious) and you can order up a set of hub-centric 20mm spacers. Then you can update this thread and leave a definitive answer for someone searching in the future...

2 T30 torx bolts hold the headlamp on - with a bit of wobbling/abuse/swearing it comes out the front of the body and gives much better access to replace all bulbs.

I have exactly the same symptoms in my A6! Collected my car from the garage last week after a re-gas where they gave it a clean bill of health but the output just feels ambient on LO setting.
