Just want to thank the guys on this thread. My radio reception has been crap for a year now. I've replaced both boot amps and had it in for fault tracing - no faults found...
So I read this, went out to the car,removed the USB adapter and... fully working radio reception! Can't believe it...
the 12v socket between the front seat on my A3 is permanently live. i want it to be switched.
I read that the newer A3's can have the position of the fuse moved to change between switched and permanent. can this be done on my 8P sportback?
(when i say moved i mean unplug the fuse and plug it...

so i know its coming up to summer, but I live in Barnsley and it seems to have its own weather system here, so bad weather is always just round the corner....
i currently have 18" alloys running 225/40 zr18 rubber. I have in my garage a set of used once winter tyres which are 205/55 r16...
no the rear windows arent tinted, but thanks for coming back to me. i had the inside of the boot stripped again today looking for loose wires, and ive metered the elements in the back window but it seems ok.
sorry to go off on a slight tangent - you mentioned going to dealership to sort radio signal. what was wrong with it pls? my A3's radio signal has gone recently...
i use viseeo tune2air adapter. put the old connector back in the glove box, plug in the tune2air, connect with bluetooth to the iphone, job done. works very well
