    A3 2.0tdi - leak from fuel pump & diesel in engine bay

    So is it the fuel filter or fuel pump that was leaking? I had the high pressure pump gasket go and that was leaking diesel and making the car smell awful. The gasket cost under a tenner and its about an hours labour.

    Anyone had the gasket go on the high pressure fuel pump? Mine has gone and it is making a hell of a stink and mpg not great. Should be getting it repaired today. Also when sat at idle the rpm creeps up to around 1000rpm, not sure wether this could be related?

    Yer I noticed the idle, and now you mention it, my mpg was running high 40's mid 50's most of the time. Has it made your engine management light come on? I have taken mine off again the engine management light has gone off. Might put it on again and leave it for a bit longer.

    Just received my de badged grill, out of interest anyone got an idea of how to get the standard one off? I have taken the torques head screws out of the top, and I'm pretty sure it just clipped in but cant get it off! Not to keen on snapping it off haha

    Just wondering what people think on bonnet wraps, my car is in the dark grey, I'm going for the black de badged grills, and the bonnet has a fair few stone chips so was thinking about a matt black wrap for it. What do you think?

    EGR and anti shudder valve removed and cleaned. Coated!!

    Hello, um pretty simple, just a few allen key bolts, which you can see as its right at the front of the engine bay. the only tricky one is at the back of it, but I don't think I was using the correct tool really, also need to unbolt the pipe that goes into the side of the EGR. Good luck Jack
