Each to their own I suppose, I believe what the OP is saying is that like on most car systems, the more you crank up the volume the louder it gets but on the Audi System as you turn it up it will reduce the volume towards the max volume to protect the speakers

It depends on the version of mmi you have and cable... In my case it was a red cable with fat apple connector but needed artwork to be resized..

I totally agree, system is crap... I retrofitted the parts and got it coded by @DJAlix must say the bass is way better but not super loud obviously...for that you’d be looking at a non oem amp and all sorts.. Link to my videos below if any help...
