Alright mate i have tried both keys. it is intermittent i was thinking about getting the keys reprogrammed, but don't want to spend money at stealers and have the same issue later on. Cheers K

Not sure what's going here, can't start the car the light is on the dashboard..have changed the batteries in the remote fob, but still no joy car doors open fine with the key, and start the car but it cuts straight away. Any ideas fellas??

Hi NHN i've tried the second key too, and it behaves the same. do you think the barrel is on it's way out? i wonder how much that's going to cost :-(

i've changed the battery but no joy, it's hit and miss at the moment. I can unlock the doors but sometimes it doesn't start. i thought it might be the battery. do you think i need to take to stealers to reprogram the key fob?? The car icon with the key below keeps coming up on the dash...

congrats bud! you have a vey cute little daughter, my boy is now 6 months old, it feels like we just had him, yet the time flys, enjoy every minute mate as time waits for no one. i've had to peg back my time on the forum and lots of other activities but i don't mind, its a great feeling..yes...

smacked into a parked car this morning, have nappy brain at the moment due to new baby and no sleep!! have split the casing with a three inch crack, anyone replaced one and how much to replace casing and respray, or do you think it can be filled in and resprayed? the mirror still works fine...

well i picked the car today and they decided to replace the layshaft bearings and also removed the old (newish) flywheel kit and replaced it with the dual mass flywheel kit, it's the wifes car so i don't think she wants anymore power out it. the noise is no more!!! :thumbsup:

Well car is stripped at the garage, and has already had a new flywheel and clutch fitted...so they now think it's the gearbox...which was sent the gearbox specialist who says its fine but will change a few bearings inside. the only thing they said was that it has a solid flywheel ( i'm assuming...

spence_star do you feel a little vibration from the clutch pedal when you press it 2 or 3 mm down gently?

i'm booked into the VAG specialist end of next week for a flywheel and clutch kit replacement...hopefully it wont be a gearbox issue. i will update you when i pickup the car. cheers

both the garages think it's not the release bearing..i thought it might be that...cheers

car rattles from gearbox, but when i press the clutch pedal down it goes away. have had a couple of garages look at it without opening the box up as i'm short of the cash required to replace gearbox if it is that. anyway the VAG specialist thinks it's the gearbox and a gearbox specialist thinks...
