Hi,
Bit of a strange one but please bear with me.
Just has a full set of S3 calipers front and rear fitted to my VW Golf GTi.
They seemed to go on fine although the front left is making a groaning noise when turning right at low speed.
Afterwards I realised that I had forgotten to have...
The aircon does function properly although now and then the econ light will pop back on.
There seems to be no pattern to it either functioning or not.
No smell as far as I'm aware.
Unfortunately I have no details about how the air-con regass was performed only that it was done by my local...
Recently had all sorts of issues with my AC.
After a re-gas and chasing an non existent sensor I have now developed strange AC behavior.
Seems that on occasions the econ light comes on. When it's off and the AC is running a sound of gas running through the pipework can be heard whilst on...
Solution found by NHN and confirmed that there is no sensor.

Be interested to see if anyone else gets this reading on MY07 onwards.
Your advice was tip top Nigel.
Pin 10 is empty. So a definitely no G89 sensor and not a reading to be concerned about.
Just curious what other A3's with climatronic and of similar age say when reading this channel on VCDS.
Hi Nigel,
I will attempt to remove the climatronic and check the pinout.
I have found four sensors. Only the two outer vents share the same part number as the suspect G89.
Thanks for your help.
The car had the econ light on permanently. There was no refrigerant or pressure in the system.
It was re-gassed and HVAC was checked on VCDS by my mechanic.
We sought to replace the G89 sensor and failed to find its location
I'm still researching at the moment if this is an actual issue, a red...
Yep the -50 degrees seems to suggest that something is wrong.
Elsawin suggests that the G89 sensor was being fazed out from 2006 and the reading is nothing to be worried about.
Just need to see another cars reading for this block.
We also can't find the sensor anywhere or it's in the actual...
Elsawin suggests that from 2006 they started to phase out G89 sensors.
It might mean that I'm chasing a red herring as this might explain why I cannot find the sensor.
There is also a German thread with a rough translation that leads to the same conclusion.
I would appreciate it though...
