I replaced my Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PVC) valve on my 2.0T FSI S3 (8P) tonight, which not only resolved an issue where the car was idling rough at 800-900RPM and hunting up to around 1300RPM, but it restored a fair bit of boost, improved engine response and smoothed out performance when...
Well just in case anyone else is facing the same issue...

I've read else where that it's a good idea to replace the N80 Evaporative Emissions Control Valve as well. Do you guys agree? If so, anyone got the part number for the latest compatible revision?
Anyone know of anyone in the Southampton area that offers the de-coke service? What's the proper terminology for this service anyway?
I'm pretty sure my PCV has gone as well, so I might replace that at the same time. Anyone know what the part number is for the current 8P compatible revision?

I'm pretty sure my PCV has gone as well, so I might replace that at the same time. Although, I could probably do that myself.
Deepeepimp (love the name), did you ever get this sorted? I've been battling with it for a while now. I had AmD Tuning in Essex replace the rear prop shaft damper/coupling, after the problem started when they replaced my clutch and fly wheel. Took the car down the same roads that I did when the...
Excellent work! I must admit, I seem to be rubbish at finding things on this forum. I can find all manner of largely unknown information all over the internet and am an Analyst by profession (believe it or not). But I often fail on this forum for some reason.
I had the pollen filter changed as...
I reckon I probably know the answer to this question, but am having trouble accepting it, let alone explaining it. Anyways, here goes...
I'm seeing evidence of excess paint spray on the underside of my S3, as if it's been sprayed from the sides. Coming from a car manufacturing background, I...
Not a bad idea.
The only way there could be excess is if someone overfilled the reservoir. That must've happened while the car was in the hands of it's previous owner. I've only had it a couple of months and probably should've spotted it earlier.
Ok, so I need to consider getting that done soonish then I guess.
Typically, most parts of the aircon system shouldn't be tampered with by anyone other than a qualified tech with specialised appliances to handle the gasses etc. Question is, is the filter one of those parts, or can I replace it...
Granta: I always leave the climate control system in auto these days. I used to run in econ mode (unless I needed cooling down), to save fuel etc. But a friend of mine, who is also a petrol head, said that running the system in auto and keeping the aircon gases flowing is better for the...
I've noticed that my temperature gauge takes, what I believe is an abnormally long time to reach 90. I know what a failed/failing thermostat is like on a 1.8T AUM engine, as suffered one on my old Mk4 Golf GTi and subsequently replaced the stat myself.
Anyways, after performing a quick visual...
