I went to a dealer in Bath two weeks ago. There were 6 left, 3 blue, 3 silver. One with 18" alloys and all the kit was £25600 and based in Birmingham. Trying to get hold of it.

Out of interest, where did you get it? Went to an Audi dealer last week - They have about 6 left, 3 blue, 3 silver. After one with same spec as yours - Must have those 18" wheels - Damn sexy!

Found it. Sounds pretty good - Dad's was two tone dark blue/silver. 250bhp doesn't sound much these days but it was damn fast.

Taking a vaguely similar step from Golf GTi 16V (approx 165bhp) to S3. Didn't get a very welcome reception from the local Audi dealer as I clearly don't look the part! Got decent info on the few remaining new ones though. Going to have to move pretty fast to get one of them!

What's the URL? Looking for an S3 at the moment to keep the Quattro spirit going!

My Dad had one of these (after two normal Quattro Turbos) in the mid 80s - Fantastic car but definitely in 80s style - Two tone paint, flat wheels, big spoiler, etc! Very quick though and was a Fast Lane poster car for many years. Do any still exist? Not seen one for a long time.

What is Alcantara? Is it cloth or leather? I'm on the S3 trail (Audi have a few left unregisterd) and want the stuff as it grips better but not actually sure what it's made of! Stepping up from a 1997 Golf GTi 16v so rather excited!

Hi all. Currently got a 1997 Mk3 Golf GTi 16V (bit of a moutful) but about to order an S3. 6 left unregistered new by Audi so trying to get one of those - 18" alloys, Bose ICE, silver, Leather/Alcantra, etc. Any owners have any advice about running costs, problems, etc? Obviously a decent step...
