The clips broke on the same hose on my car recently so it kept popping off. I had mine fixed at a garage and they told me that it's best to replace the hose and the middle plastic pipe as they generally don't fit as well if one of the parts is worn. I wasn't sure whether it was just a ploy to...
Hi all
Just nipped to the shops and the ABS warning light has lit up on my 53 plate 2.0 TDI. Had a quick read of some other threads on here relating to this and I understand it could be due to various things. However, last month I took my car back to a garage that fitted me two CV boots which...
Well I didn't have to pay a penny so fair play to him given some of the comments on here. The guy that spotted they were torn mentioned that the original ones are more like plastic than rubber, these are definitely the more rubbery flexible type. Will keep an eye on them, hopefully they'll last...
Hi all
My 53 plate 2.0 TDI failed its MOT last year due to split CV boots on both sides. I had them repaired last November, cost me circa £45 each iirc. I've just recently had new tyres fitted and, to my surprise, the chap mentioned I needed new CV boots. I'm not sure about the driver's side...
It's the intercooler pipe! I can see it clear as day now there's some light and I knew where to look from the guidance on here. It's popped right off down on the passenger side.
There's not a cat's chance in hell that RAC man last night didn't spot it either last night as he was looking down...
Well, I called the RAC out as I couldn't even find a screwdriver that'd fit so figured I'd get my money's worth. He looked around the engine bay with his torch for a while then asked me to start the engine and keep blipping the revs. He said he'd expect to hear a sucking sound if a pipe had come...
Hope so mate, I just had two new tyres put on this week which weren't cheap so really could do without any garage bills this month. On the plus side, I phoned the RAC last week to cancel my renewal as it was a rip off but haven't got round to sorting other cover out yet. Turns out my RAC cover...
Oil level is fine so guessing it's the popped hose, I really hope it is. You've made me feel a LOT better :)
Apologies for the complete noob question but can I push the hose back on myself from the engine bay or does it need raising?
Thanks for your help.
Hi all
I've got a 2003 2.0 TDI Sport, just put my foot down on a slip road and there was a loud pop sound accompanied by a large plume of smoke out of the exhaust and massive loss of power. The car now also sounds really loud similar to if there was a hole in the exhaust or something, I've just...
It may have been more then 10mm but he said it was within the range the S3 is lowered to. Whether it's the lowering or something else that's caused it, the camber is definitely out (by equal amounts on each side) and while I could rotate the tyres the inside wear is pronounced enough that I'd...
Hi
I've got a 2003 2.0 TDI Sport to which the previous owner has fitted 18" wheels and had the car lowered slightly (think he said 10mm). The camber was adjusted when the work was done but it's a few years later and I'm guessing the suspension has bedded in further as I've noticed that the rear...
