I understood that there should not be more than 5 mm difference between the front and rear tyre depth for a quattro, but it would seem that it operates ok outside of that. After a lot of deliberation, I stuck with Dunlops again and replaced all four at 22,500.

I've looked at one several times in my local dealer recently and also thought it looked dull. Definitely pleased to jump back into mine. However, I did see it in a new light in the car park and can see where they are coming from now. Never say never!

I've just had a good look at 2.0 TDi S Line in a nearby car park. It's growing on me, I have to say. This was in metallic grey and seemed to suit it somehow. No side indicator lights on the front wings, just an S line badge.
