I've come to the conclusion that it's coolant. The PAS fluid is green, and has a certain smell. I decided to do the taste test on the leaked liquid. It doesn't taste sweet, but it tastes exactly the same as the stuff in the reservoir. Next question is, why isn't the reservoir level going down?

What colour will the power steering and gearbox oil be? They were black on my rado

Coolant reservoir is full, and the coolant is more of a orange rusty colour

I've got a leak coming from the under side of the car under the engine and it's getting slowly worse. It's leaking a pink oily type fluid, but it doesn't really smell. Whats it likely to be?

Thanks for that fella. i'll get the battery off tomorrow and have a gander. Seems an odd place for the water to leak though, i would imagine it to run down the back of the bulkhead if it gathers there rather than where it is. I'll have a gander though

I've noticed my tdi has developed a slight coolant leak, talking 50ml ish per day, coming from the front of the engine bay. My question is, is there a common place where these leak? Or is it simply a case of up on the axle stands to have a poke around?

Suppose I'll have to take a look at the weekend. From past experience tho knocking noises at low speeds/full lock haven't caused major issues. Just trying to out the work off I guess

There is a knocking sound coming from the front right of the car, it doesn't always happen and when it does it's only at low speeds. Driving normally the car feels fine, but when it knocks you can feel it. Any ideas what this is likely to be? it sounds like it should be fairly straight forward tbh

Hmmm, I'll give it a whirl without taking the front end off first, then I suppose I'll just have to suck it up and crack on if needs be. All this is dependent on being able to get the fan off first. Makes me appreciate how easy the corrado was to work on!

Ive just had a further look at the haynes manual about taking the belt off and it contradicts itself. It says "turn the 15mm bolt anti-clockwise to loosen the tension", then in the very next sentence it says "Note - the bolt has a left handed thread, so it will not loosen when turning...
