Hi All, been nearly 10. years since I was last here ! got myself an S4 that needs a little bit of tinkering with to get it right. I just spent yesterday morning replacing the coolant temp sensor on the car because the temp gauge on the instrument panel doesn't work. It doesn't light up either...

Just found out the stat on my 2.4 is burried behind the cam belt, it runs cold all the time .. so it looks like will be doing pump and belt along with stat in one job , going to pop a crank oil seal in there too whilst its all apart as it pee's oil out ! mark

UPDATE: I had a mess with the wiring , changed the earth wire around on the blue mini iso plug and got the cd changer powered up but the head unit wont recognise it... i managed to get all the speakers working too with reasonable sound... but im bugged as i'd like to run the cd changer in the...

no , spent ages looking for my test light yesterday and gave up ! theres 2 relays , one i presume is a fan run on relay ? so under the n/s chassis leg is my fan control unit then i guess , gonna pop it off when it stops raining and have a look at... thanks for the help mark

replaced one on my 2.4 v6 , wasnt the easiest to do but reading on the internet the 1.8 is easier ... problem comes with making sure you have a good seal so it doesnt leak oil afterwards. other problem is price of the part , i managed to get a good s/h one from somone braking a a4 2.4 on ebay...
