Most likely a poor connection from your Haldex controller or the controller is faulty.
If it is faulty, up-grade to the Blue Haldex HPP, night and day of a difference, a real improvement over standard.
As above, the plastic impellers on the water pump will have broken off.
Not an uncommon fault on the 20vT engines.
Best to change it when the cam belt and tensioners are getting done for piece of mind.
I think you might be able to get them from Ed at APS, I bought mine from AmD but that option is no longer.....
I find they stone chip quite easily in comparison with the BBS CH's I fitted to the wifes Golf.....
Going to look at an S4 Avant with my friend today (Sunday), I plan to take my 1552 with me to check for any fault codes, can you tell me where to look to find the diagnostic port location please, its a 2000 model.
Is there anything I should be looking for in particular on this model?
