Well done - I'm impressed. I considered doing it myself to save all that labour, but I just don't have the time. I wish I did. My dad had to do the same on his own A6 and he said the same as you - it's a tedious job. I just can't justify the outlay on a car that's worth £3k. :(

Same problem on mine. Same conclusion: £1500 bill or arm-out-of-the-window time. We're about to buy a brand new A6 instead. :(

Where does the EGR pipe lead to after the vacuum valve? I think mine connects to the turbo but I can't remember for sure. If the previous owner disabled the EGR then I wonder how. Is yours blanked off?

Glad it helped someone else - that's why I posted it. The oil leak on my engine died away after I replaced the breather. Give yours a few weeks and it might do the same. A blocked breather causes crankcase pressure build-up and that pushes oil out of the weakest seal.

Holy shiat! You now need a computer to change brake pads on a modern car??? The world has gone mad. I did rear discs and pads on my '99 A6 at the weekend. 20 mins per side.
