Well done - I'm impressed. I considered doing it myself to save all that labour, but I just don't have the time. I wish I did. My dad had to do the same on his own A6 and he said the same as you - it's a tedious job.

Where does the EGR pipe lead to after the vacuum valve? I think mine connects to the turbo but I can't remember for sure. If the previous owner disabled the EGR then I wonder how. Is yours blanked off?

The oil leak on my engine died away after I replaced the breather. Give yours a few weeks and it might do the same. A blocked breather causes crankcase pressure build-up and that pushes oil out of the weakest seal.
