I ran mine in using the guide in the manual but I also heard the same from the sales guy about no need to. I decided to stick with the instructions on the manual instead. Wishing you a lot of fun with your new S3.

Yes my facelift S3 does this. Just leave the mirror dial on the door set to the left mirror and then the mirror will dip to the same place each time you put the car into reverse. Love this feature.
