Eventually tracked the problem down to flywheel explosion, Audi not interested even though car was serviced by Audi with 60,000 miles on clock. Taken the car to a third party who will put it right for 50% of the Audi price. Selling this car as its likely to give nothing but bother. VAG please...
Hi There, eventually I have found out that my car breakdown was an exploded flywheel (A4 2.0 TDI), seems to be a common problem that Audi do not give a toss about. My advice is get a Jap car with a five year warrenty.
Hi Folks
If your injector on a 140 BHP A4 has failed you need to log a complaint/defect with VOSA, at the moment VOSA are only aware of faults with the 170BHP injectors. Unless we all log complaints/defects with VOSA they will not put pressure on AUDI to sort out your failed injectors.
Hi There
Has anyone else had an injector fail on the A4 140? If so please contact VOSA and log a complaint, you need to do this on their website. Otherwise VOSA are not aware of a problem with the injector and will not put pressure on Audi to fix it.
Has anyone managed to get the injectors on the 140 bhp A4 replaced for free? Does the free replacement only apply to the 170 bhp? The car is 2006 so is out of warrenty
As a metter of interest can anyone tell me what the symptoms of injector failure are? My A4 2.0 TDI is with the mechanic now and he is going to check for an oil pump failure after finding that the timing belt is ok. If it turns out that the oil pump has not failed then it may be the injectors...
To answer the question asked my motor is a BRE so its grear driven, however the oil pump drive for these also is prone to fail due to rounding off of a hex drive. Will not have anything else to report until mid week as the car is with local mechanic. It may be of interest that the local car...
Just confirmed the motor is a gear driven oil pump, my local parts specialist says the pump assembley is on order with Audi so even if I need one it will take some time. Although he thought I would just need a new pump and some gears......no new assembley may be needed. Fingers crossed.
Just hoping that its not going to cost too much money will let you all know how I get on. If you own an A4 its worth doing some preventative maintenance yourself and getting to know the car rather than relying on Audi.
Sorry to say I have had a problem with my BRE engine A4 2.0 TDI. It was running a bit rough at idle for a week but when I took it to the local garage they thought it was ok for a deisel. Yesterday, while driving, I heard a slight cough from the engine and to be honest I dont think I would have...
