We put our garmin in the space in front of the cup holders. It sits perfectly and doesn't slide around. We dont use it apart from it telling us fixed cameras in sound alert.

Me too me too lol. Saying that, missus loved the R for its lag(!) compared to the mkv stage 2 gti. I personally never really warmed up to the R because of it. It was also very difficult to shift the car around with lift off unlike the gti and the soon to come s3.

I agree, as I looked into SB s3 a few years ago but ended up getting the golf R as it was so much cheaper. What a surprise when they announced the new price! Wasn't even considering s3 initially as I couldn't see much point if paying similar money to a45.
