    Replacement Turbo and Rear Diff

Thanks for the reply. I'll look into a new turbo or getting mine rebuilt from/by Beach Buggy Turbos. My plan for the diff was to drain the it and see if there is anything metallic in the oil. If not then I know it's not a really serious problem. I have heard you need to drop the Quattro system...

    Replacement Turbo and Rear Diff

I'm looking at that before anything with the diff is done. For now the turbo is the priority.

    Replacement Turbo and Rear Diff

I called an independent garage I've been to before and they said it could be a bearing in the rear diff and they could put a new core in my turbo. Does that sound like a reasonable solution?

Sorry mate, looks like it put your name in! I did mean to say 'judders' though!

    Replacement Turbo and Rear Diff

The turbo has the in out play so he said. The whining started roughly a month ago. I'll take the fuse out shortly and see if that makes any difference. Thanks for the help so far.

    Replacement Turbo and Rear Diff

Thanks for the replies. The problem with the diff is when you turn full lock the car judders and almost drags a wheel. It feels reluctant at times too. The turbo just has a small amount of whine but the mechanic said there was too much play. I took it in to have a couple of boost pipes replaced...

    Replacement Turbo and Rear Diff

Morning all, I picked my S3 up yesterday after it went in to Audi for a few bits buy they also gave me some alarming news. My rear diff is shot and the turbo is on the way out. The price to have these rectified is over £4k. Has anyone changed the rear diff or turbo on their car? I can't afford...

What mileage has everyone's car done? When is enough enough?

Well my thoughts are to keep it and use it for a track car eventually, I can't see the resale value being too great the more miles I put on it.

What mileage has everyone's car done? When is enough enough?

That's reassuring. Providing I can sort the turbo problem then I should be tip-top!

What mileage has everyone's car done? When is enough enough?

Bit of a random question but my S3 is close to the 141k mileage mark and over the past 6 months I have started replacing tired parts in the engine bay. The latest edition is the huge pipe that connects to the air filter as it was old and the smaller pipes that come off it had collapsed. Also, I...

    Engine not getting warm

Would that stop the car pulling properly and/or the turbo not boosting properly? Could anyone provide a link to somewhere to buy a replacement please? I have been looking on eBay but there are some at £6 and some at £109!

    Engine not getting warm

No fault codes, the heater is luke warm. Changing the temperature to high doesn't make a difference to the actual heat.

    Engine not getting warm

Morning, I fitted the 2.0 TFSI coil pack last night which has sorted my misfire problem but I have noticed over the past week that the engine has stopped getting warm when driving, the gauge gets 1 notch above cold. I thought that would have been due to the coil pack but sadly not. It doesn't...
